"An Excellent Example of an Intercontinental Hotel "
This hotel has high quality facilities with impeccable staff led by General Manager Ms Britta Kutz. The only concern stems from the fact that there are no suites with double basins or double bathrooms. This shortcoming is out of keeping with the remainder of the wonderful hospitality of this hotel. The Club Lounge is excellent and they serve very good German breakfast selections. This is a hotel we definitely want to return to.
"Solid business and tourist hotel "
I've stayed at the intercon dusseldorf a few times and the location is great for work and leisure, especially if you want to be near the shopping action and old town. Service across the board is very good but the food in the hotel is not worth the price. Good think is that there are plenty of options nearby within walking distance
"Fantastic hotel in a great location"
Loved this hotel. Conveniently located just a short walk from the old town and on the main shopping street. Impressive reception and lobby area and the reception staff were very friendly and informative. The bedroom was lovely and very comfortable. The hotel bar was expensive but faultless service from the bar staff and served impressive cocktails! The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because we had a long wait to check in (there was no queue but the 2 reception staff were both occupied for a long time) and we had difficulty getting a drink in the lobby on the first night as no one was serving.
"Best place in town"
I have stayed in the Intercontinental Dusseldorf many times when I go to that area of Germany for business. It is a very very nice hotel in the best place in Dusseldorf. Rooms are very nice and modern. Can't say for one in specific cause I've stayed there many times. But all rooms where very very nice and clean, modern and with big bathrooms. I have stayed in another hotel in Dusseldorf and regretted for not choosing the Intercontinental. Nothing wrong with the other place but this one feels special. You will not regret it.
"One act of superb service says it all!"
What can I say about the hotel' I wrote about Intercontinental Sydney in December 2016 and keen to compare. The hotel is well located within walking distance to Alstadt (old town), shopping precincts, good restaurants, and the Tourist bus. The room is modern, clean and has a pivotal (moveable) glass table , which is wonderful to allow more spacing. However, I have never liked dark woodwork in any hotel ( gives a dismal ambience) And here is my highlight! A small gesture but a big impression! On the last evening of our stay, we ran out of Euros ( we have never run out of local cash anywhere before.) We wanted 20 Euros for a cab just in case it rained after dinner. Johannes appeared at Reception ( we had met him before) and after a short discussion with his senior, he helped us get the cash. That's what I call "Service". Johannes (sp') who is a trainee will certainly go far with his initiative, warm hospitality and sincere proactive service. Muhammad and Florian at Concierge gave us good service too, and pointed us to good restaurants and culinary experiences. As I have said before, a Good Concierge beats Mr. Google...anytime.
