"Not Over the Top"
Ambiance was decent. Location was good. Sort of what you expect for a European hotel. Staff was outstanding. The elevator was broken during our visit. No help was offered to the higher floor people so the management is in question. Breakfast was great. Mixed reviews and emotions on this one as to what to say.
If you want a stressful breakfast where you share your table with other guests and have to continually get up to let others out, or interrupt others to escape the table to return to the buffet, then the Hellsten is for you. Food quality is pretty average too. Most of the rooms face rhe inner courtyard which is very noisy, so not good for sleeping
"Great Location, Friendly Service, Interesting Decor & Sweet Extras"
My husband and I only stayed here one night but we enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again. Each room is unique; ours was a romantic old-fashioned styled room with a canopy bed. It was comfortable and had an area in the front to keep our luggage, shoes & coats in so that they weren't in our way. The bathroom had a heated floor which I thought was awesome (If I didn't live in Florida, I would totally have to have one!). They also provided terry cloth robes and slippers that made it extra cozy. The only thing that didn't work was the blowdryer - luckily I had brought one with me. Breakfast is buffet style and they have a very nice spread, there is something for everyone. We checked out the bar and thought it was adorable but we weren't there long enough to enjoy it - we did pass by during happy hour and there was a decent crowd, seems to be a local after work place. We arrived hours before check in and since our room wasn't ready there stored our luggage free of charge. They also gave us a lot of recommendations on getting around, where to go, and provided maps, etc.
"A good hotel in a great location"
Stayed 3 nights with partner. The hotel is situated near to a metro station only 2 stops/5 minutes from city centre. We had a comfortable room with a large four poster bed, a lovely mattress and soft pillows. Slept really well. Shower/toilet facilities modern and practical. Plenty of choice at breakfast but seating arrangements chaotic. Should improve when dining room extension completed. Staff all friendly and helpful and speak excellent English. The price (£150 per night) very reasonable for Stockholm. If we return to the city we will stay here again.
"A disastrous special romantic anniversary break"
Bearing in mind we made this 3 night reservation in December as a special treat for our special anniversary specifying we wanted a 6ft king sized bed on a high floor with space and booked a Junior suite and the Luxury romantic package we were disappointed A) that the Room we were given the first night was not a Junior Suite B) that the luxury romantic package was not available on arrival but until the 2nd night C) that the mattress in the Junior Suite we were given the 2nd & 3rd night should have been replaced D) that the offered Champagne as part of the Luxury package was not champagne but a Spanish Cava. Some of your staff did their best to improve on the complete failure to deliver on what we had booked & yes a 500 kroner discount was given, I can only say I would have preferred to have paid for what e booked. The Breakfast room is too small with insufficient tables and chairs for the number of guests, but also too many to be able to relax and enjoy a Breakfast
