"Modern, contemporary hotel, with great service"
I stayed in an executive room on the 7th floor, with a wonderful view of the iconic Selfridge building. Friendly welcome at reception on arrival. The room was excellent - everything to a first class standard. The bed was very comfy. Fabulous shower - could have held a small party in there!! There was a large choice at breakfast. I was didn't locate the hotel car park when I arrived by car, but followed the one-way system and came across the Selfridge NCP car park, where I left the car. Short 3-4 minute walk back to the hotel, and a concession for the overnight parking as I was a resident. Don't forget to get your car park ticket validated before leaving the hotel for the reduced rate, and pay at the pay station before leaving the car park! All in all, a fabulous hotel, right in the heart of the city centre and would have no hesitation to stay again.
"Nice modern hotel"
This hotel is reasonably new and therefore everything is to a high standard. The room we stayed in was a decent size, as was the bathroom. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower, but no bath. We prefer this as showers over baths can be dangerous to get in and out. The only complaints about the room were the small amount of storage and the narrow space between the bed and the wall on one side (about 50cm). We only stayed one night, but had we been staying longer with more clothes it would have been a struggle. There is ample space to move the bed at least 25cm further away from the wall, but it is now too late as the bedside shelves and dressing table are permanent fixtures. The restaurant for dinner was good and reasonably priced. The breakfast was good too. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is close to Moor Street station and a little further to New Street station. The footpaths are very uneven if one is dragging a suitcase. Also the route to New Street is not very clear with several busy road crossings.
"Central location.....but not too central !!"
My wife and I arrived, late morning, by train at Moor St Station which is just a couple of walking minutes away. We stayed for one night taking advantage of a Wowcher deal that included dining at the hotel's Marco Pierre White restaurant followed by bed and breakfast. As we were attending an afternoon theatre matinee we were grateful for an early midday check in which allowed us access to our room ahead of us leaving for the theatre. On our return to the hotel we had a very pleasant evening. The dining experience was very positive. We had a good night's sleep with no city centre noise to contend with. In our opinion the hotel is well situated because it does not suffer any of the negatives sometimes associated with such locations. The room was very clean and modern. The bed very comfortable. In the morning, following a hearty breakfast, we checked out and thanked staff at reception for a very short but very enjoyable stay. Having had several overnight stays in Birmingham in the past, this one rates as the best.
"Stop over for 1 night"
I decided to book a night here to break our journey to Northern lake district. I found a wowcher deal which included an upgrade to an executive room a £50.00 dinner voucher and breakfast next morning. We arrived around 4pm, friendly reception staff and we were asked our floor choice. We chose the top floor hopeful of a decent view but it was just car parks leading to the shopping centre. I have stayed in larger, better equipped rooms for a standard fee so unsure how it was an executive room. I asked for 7.30pm reservation for dinner but was told it was full at that time so was given 7.15pm. The restaurant ( on the 1st floor) had 2 other covers beside us so fully booked.........' Service was attentive however the meal was nothing special and when the bill arrived we were overcharged but that was soon rectified despite the £50.00 voucher which had been taken into account. Bed was comfortable, no complaints there and the shower was great. Breakfast proved to be the hotels downfall for us. Plenty of choice however waiting more than 10 mins for 2 poached eggs is unacceptable. I asked for them to be cooked with no raw runnyness of white but sadly both were under Cooked! Room for improvement. I also asked for sugar free or at least reduced sugar jam or marmalade, nope Nothing! Would I stay again ' Possibly,..... but I'm not in any rush for a repeat stay and I wouldn't bother to upgrade my room.

Love this hotel. Stay regularly when in Birmingham on business. Friendly professional management and staff. Exceptionally clean. Lovely linen. Great breakfast. I have also held meetings here and all my area managers from around the UK love staying here too.
