"Terrible rsponse over a room issue"
Booked a standard room with breakfast - £208. Air con is not air con apparently its an environmental heating/cooling system' Our room was 24.5 degrees with a window that was locked shut. We asked for the air con to be fixed - came back at midnight still as hot. Literally had no sleep. room was oppressively hot and I felt this was not acceptable. They have offered me a free upgrade next time I stay - absolutely no use to me as I will never stay there again. This lack of sleep ruined our next day - which was our anniversary the whole reason we had come to London - I do not feel the hotel realises how annoyed we feel. Our friends had upgraded to a better room - £40 extra - and amazingly their "air con" cooled their room down to a comfortable 20 degrees' Amazing how a more expensive room has a different system to the standard rooms' Our bed and pillows were not very comfortable but probably felt worse as we were so uncomfortable already. Terrible waste of money for what was supposed to be a treat.
"Can’t be called hotel"
Rude fromt desk staff Dirty and very tired rooms. Reservation was wrong. Heating wasn’t working in the 2 rooms I stayed in. The Kettle in the room was not working. Bad experience and will never think of staying again in this hotel.
"Appallingly rude Receptionist"
We paid for the hotel well in advance with a Gift Voucher that we received some weeks' previously. The procedure to redeem a voucher is laughable, for a worldwide chain, necessitating sending the Recorded Delivery to the Reservations Office prior to the booking being accepted ....no on-line simplicity here! On arriving at the hotel, the most rude Receptionist you will EVER meet, said that we had not paid, despite us showing her an e mail confirming receipt of the vouchers from the Millennium group. Words cannot express how rude she was, even though this was clearly her hotel's mistake in documenting that this booking was paid in advance. She was offhand, hateful, rude and uncaring, and made us feel as embarrassed as was humanly possible whilst stood at the desk for almost an hour. Then, once it was confirmed that we HAD paid, not a single word of apology! What an awful person to have working in this front of house role! Unbelievable!
"Hotel takes advantage of location"
I don't know why they expect some one to be happy with all those worn and dirty furniture. Carpet also terribly dirty and stained. Corridors with intense smell of mold. Fouaye with kitchen smell. Overpriced taking advantage of location. Typical English 4 star hotel were worn and stains is a must other wise you are not in London you are somewhere else. Probably part of their culture.
"A favourite of mine!"
I stayed in this Hotel again about 10 days ago. As always the Hotel lived up to my expectations. Staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Breakfast is excellent and has a very varied Buffet. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The position of the Hotel is really good and only 5 minuts walk to Oxford Street. I will return again. Thanks to all the Staff.
