"Completely unforgiving & inflexible - don't book here EVER!"
I booked two reservations with a mistaken extra day on one and omitted from the other. They were willing to add 1 day to one, but were inflexible and incorrigible when asking to remove 1 day. "Policy"
"Value for money"
A vintage hotel where you can stay away from noise only if you stay above the fourth floor. We arrived without a reservation and the receptionist gave us a room in the 1st floor that was very small- no windows and view... We asked for something better but it costs a lot. They charge double for a room in the fifth floor, not actually bigger but fortunately sunny with two windows. The extra cost includes all day access in a lobby where you can drink beverages, hot tea and fresh juices and a kind of "tapas". Nothing special, we hardly visit it twice. The best part of our stay was the breakfast buffet.... delicious with a big variety of everything... you can find Chinese and Japanese breakfast, gluten free products and all types of coffee. 5 stars for breakfast, 4 stars for service and 3 stars for the rooms.
I had my bag stolen last Monday in Mayfair, which had my purse, house keys, phone, everything in it. I was with colleagues who took me to the hotel they were staying at to see if I could find a room for the night. I was told the hotel was "overbooked" (not actually sure what that means!). One of my friends offered to have me stay in her room on the sofa bed, which I ended up doing - the lady on reception then asked who would be paying the £65 supplement for having me stay!! I was disgusted at this service - not what I'd expect of this type of hotel at all.
First time I stayed at millennium Mayfair grosvernor square dec.2016. I went back August 22-sept3 in London . Unfortunately hotel was booked but I checked at another millennium hotel in Gloucester south Kensington. I would definitely stay when in London st the same hotel. Location of millennium Mayfair excellent . Near Oxford street where shopping is.
"Afternoon tea was very nice"
Had a very nice afternoon tea with my husband. The service was excellent. The tea was great. The sandwiches were fine the scones and desserts were fine, but they don't hold a candle to the desserts I make at home. The red velvet cake I made for my son and daughter-in-laws wedding a few months ago was so much richer and moister than any desserts I have tried here in London, and my scones are not near as dry and crumbly. My husband says I have spoiled him for restaurants, because I go home and make their recipes, only much better.
