The Petit Palace Embassy is a boutique hotel and in fact the only hotel situated on calle Serrano, the number-one luxury shopping street in the Salamanca district of Madrid (Gucci, Loewe, Carolina Herrera, Versace, Dior, Dolce & Gabanna, Cartier), adjoining the Plaza de Colón and parallel to Paseo de la Castellana. It occupies a nineteenth-century building and has a lovely glassed-in, daylit café, where patrons can enjoy the hotel's breakfast buffet and service from the bar/coffee shop and the El Invernadero gourmet restaurant.
"Great hotel in Madrid"
Really enjoyed staying at the hotel. The room is really nice, with a good mini bar. The staff is very helpful and friendly The bar downstairs is staffed by a person named Kik e and he is awesome. The breakfast is great. The location is the ideal location for Madrid!
"Very nice boutique hotel"
Hotel is located right on the bustling Calle de Serrano, close to all the luxury shops and access to Salamanca district, and walking distance to the Serrano metro station. Rooms are large, clean and modern and service if efficient.
"Reliable in a great area"
Stayed with our two kids. Not fancy but it worked. Room had a high ceiling and a balcony where my two kids slept and they loved it. They felt like they were in a clubhouse. The rooms were quiet and clean. The staff was helpful and the breakfast surprisingly good. What you get is a reliable hotel, with rooms for four (some rooms have a queen + bunk beds, or queen + a large bed sofa) without perks, but in Salamanca - a high-end area of town - where other hotels would cost twice to three times as much. We recommend it for a family with kids between 5 to 12.
"Clean, updated, not quite to expectations. Great staff."
Prime location in a very nice, tourist-y shopping district. Interior of the hotel is done with great taste. The rooms are exactly as pictured, not too small and not too big for one bed. Accommodations and amenities are nice as well. The staff, Felipe in particular is very gracious, patient, communicative and prompt. Great staff from top to bottom actually. I did however have some negative experiences here, and it's mainly because of the money I spent for the room ($160). There is no fitted sheet on the bed. I merely thought this was a super minor housekeeping mishap, but come to find out there is not fitted sheets on any of the beds here, at least I was told. I was offered another sheet kindly, but figured that was a waste. So, on the beds it's just a normal sheet and the comforter. The A/C works, but just barely. On constant full blast, the room just barely got near a comfortable level. Those who like cool/cold rooms beware, this building/s A/C will not get your room there. There is also terrible lighting at the bathroom counter. None of my qualms with my stay are big at all. Very minor issues, which I honestly wouldn't care about if I didn't pay a premium price for the room. $160 seems to be a heavily discounted rate on par with on premium hotels in the area. Just seems like a $160/night room would be a little more... worth it. Overall I was very pleased with my stay. The ownership and staff seem to do a fantastic job.
We had a 16 hour layover in Madrid, and were lucky enough to have booked this hotel for our brief stay. Centrally located in a very nice area of the city, it was perfect for us. The two staff members Dani and Aida were incredibly helpful. They recommended a delicious bakery just a few blocks away, and went above and beyond to make our stay as wonderful as possible. The hotel room itself was very modern and clean with a large bed. The morning breakfast was full of fresh breads, pastries, fruits, and juices. The staff is what really makes this hotel great though. Thoroughly impressed. Great stay.
