Trade show mandated stay. After being emailed and offered at check-in "upgrades" at least half a dozen times I should have taken hint, my room would be a disaster. Lock needed to be replaced to get in after going for ice, A/C fan never stopped didn't cool, old mildew in bath and A/C vent and a 30" wide window. Called to alert about A/C bedside phone couldn't be heard by front desk. Called after adjusting volume clerk made rude comments when couldn't hear. Call back to check out must have been to much effort! Glassware and Room service dishes in hall day and a half. Went to desk give List nothing changed. Aside from convention services, although still waiting on invoice and valet not a smile or pleasant word. Avoid!
"Clean and quiet, but don't eat there"
Clean and quiet hotel with ridiculously HIGH prices for standard food ($12.00 for a glass of wine and $22.00 for a small buffet breakfast). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great location for getting in and out of D.C.
"Unclean and Unsecure"
I am both angered and disappointed that the Hyatt staff shared my reservation status and payment information with an unauthorized third party on TWO separate occasions. On both occasions, the third party was also allowed to make changes to my reservation and payment method without my prior consent and without notifying me. At no point did the Hyatt staff reach out to me to ask if changes should or could be made, rather they notified me upon my arrival that someone else had changed my reservation. I asked them to reverse those changes because I neither approved, nor authorized them. After my stay, they notified me that they had reversed the changes I requested - AGAIN at the request of an unauthorized thrid party and without my consent. Additionally, the room was filthy - thick dust covered the lamps in the main area and the bathroom, as well as around the furniture. Neither hotel phone worked and one of the staff came to my room and chastised me, saying that I had been on the phone too long and they were trying to reach me because I had a package waiting. I told them neither phone worked, but the issue was never resolved. Also, the iron was broken upon my arrival. When I plugged it in to use it, I pulled the cord out and set the iron down, only to have the cord automatically retract and send the iron flying toward me and onto the floor. When I notified the front desk and asked for a replacement, the attendant said "Is the cord automatically going back in' Oh yeah, that happens all the time." So, apparently this dangerous problem is ongoing, but they feel no need to create a universal fix. Several of the main conference areas had a musty, mildew-like smell and looked as if they were either outdated or under renovation - yet, they were rented out for use. Overall I would not recommend this hotel, nor would I stay at Hyatt Regency Crystal City again.
"Hyatt near capital"
Nice and quiet hotel just outside of the Capital. Very friendly and helpful staff.Rooms maybe a little dated but comfortable. No street parking, $32.00 for overnight valet parking with unlimited entrance and exit. In an area where lots of other hotels are all around. On site restaurant.
"Food & Beverage"
Food & Beverage were both good, basically on an average scale, with nothing to write home about. Food & Beverage were especially over priced for what you got, especially the beer pricing. $7.00 for a bottle of beer (Bud Light) is absolutely ridiculous. Better off exploring other means of seeking out local food and beverage.
