"My stay at the Hyatt Regency"
I stayed at the Hyatt while I was attending a conference. The room was nice and clean. It was in walking distance for many restaurants and the staff was polite and friendly. Only concern was there was no refrigerator in the room and I had to ask for one and the microwave was located on another floor.I would stay there again and I recommend this hotel!
"Nice stay in DC area"
We were here for a Vietnam veterans reunion. We were pleased with the hotel staff, service, location. There is a shuttle to take you to the Metro stop so travel for sightseeing in DC was pretty easy. The restaurant and the lobby bar were good, prices reasonable. Our suite was quiet and spacious. Our only complaint was with the bathroom. No towel bar and no hook for a bathrobe. Also no full length mirror anywhere in the room. But still the hotel is very nice. Housekeeping staff was responsive.
"Handy for airport"
My daughter and I stayed here for one night only while visiting friends. For us the location was ideal. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful from the valet parking to check in to restaurant and the person helping us with our bags was extremely pleasant. We had a deal that included breakfast so that was good value. Overnight parking was $34 per night so not cheap but we later discovered a parking garage just round the corner on Crystal Avenue which I think was much cheaper- it was a weekend and there is free on street parking on a Sunday. The hotel is also well located ( 5mins') from Ronald Reagan airport. Plenty of restaurants nearby so if you wanted to visit Washington/Arlington/Georgetown without being in the city this would be a good choice.
We were here for a conference. Our room was newly redecorated and lovely. There are many restaurants with diverse cuisines available within a short walk. The shuttle to and from the airport is super convenient. Tons of fun and/ or historical things to do within a reasonable distance.
"this is not a vacation property.. or for a romantic getaway"
we have stayed at Hyatts for years and i guess this one is not for leisure but for business...the bathroom are smaller then any bathroom hotel i have been in for years..you cannot close the door with being outside of the bathroom..a single vanity, no tub and two person canto be in the room at the same time....the was huge and could have easily had some of that in the bath....its modern, no warmth....even the sheraton at charles de gualle has character in the rooms....the food at the bar lounge was so bad we did not eat it. do not know if the Cinnibar is the same. the public rooms are cleaned and the banquet food was not really bad. Our sales manger Jackie was wonderful. She is definitely an asset to the Hotel. I hope the other Hyatts have not gone ion their direction or we shall never be staying in one again....there was also jack hammering all day and the sofa and bed vibrated....when i called the fdesk said, oh yes, we renovate 7 days a week from 9-5. they should have told us about that when we booked the room as we would have paid more to be away from the noise.
