"One of the best hotels in Kathmandu"
There are a few other good hotels in the city. This one is pretty close to the airport and pick up in a car is included if you book a club floor room. I liked the grounds and the beautiful entrance and lobby to the hotel that reminded me somehow of the Pashupatinath temple located nearby. There were some hits and misses in the visit. The biggest challenge was that the staff person who registered us on the club floor (after a painfully delayed trip from Pokhara) did not really handle things well. We arrived at 4:00, two hours after check in, and our room was still not ready. Instead of switching us to another room that was available we were told to come back in 15 minutes. After a half an hour I complained at front desk and they immediately got us into a room which should have been done when we arrived beat from our trip. I would also caution that the club floor can be quite noisy (its a club after all) when happy hour comes...and beyond. And in the morning, it is better to get the full breakfast in the restaurant than to get the smaller range of things offered on the club floor. That said, we enjoyed the decor of the hotel.. the dark woods in our room, the stone and marble and carvings. We also enjoyed the food very much. The staff were very gracious and cooked everything per our request both in the restaurant and through room service. I also got a good haircut in the salon at a very reasonable price. I think if I were going back I would get a standard room. It would have been about 1/2 of what we paid for the club level.
"One of the best hotels i have stayed in"
We stayed here twice, once for three days before we went to Bhutan and for another night when we came back. Staff are excellent in all departments, very friendly and very helpful. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds where they grow herbs etc for the kitchens, within the grounds is a large outdoor swimming pool, a bar and three tennis courts, there is also a wonderful garden , that has a path around it and is well worth walking. The reception area is large with a coffee shop and a balcony, on our return from Bhutan we were able to get into our room at 10am. The rooms are large, we had twin beds on the first stay and a large double on the second, both excellent, good size shower with plenty of hot water, also in the room is a safe which is free to use. The main restaurant is on the lower floor, this is also where they serve breakfast. Breakfast was really good, good mixture of food, from local to European, two chefs were cooking eggs as you wished, someone else was making health drinks to order, plenty of choice for everyone. We also dined in the restaurant at lunch time and night, always 2 choices, buffet or al la carte, food was excellent as was the service, there is also an Italian restaurant and we dined there, again food was excellent, I had a crab and shrimp pizza and I have got to say it was one of the best I have ever eaten. Would certainly recommend that if you are coming to Kathmandu you would think about staying here
"Wonderful Modern Hotel"

"Perfect for many reasons."
Our stay was arranged through our tour company, Trans India Holidays, and beautifully done. The traffic in Kathmandu is hectic at best. The Hyatt is not too far, yet in the heart of it all. In fact, you see and can walk to the Boudhanath Stupa which is quaintly surrounded by shops and rooftop restaurants. The rooms are simple, but the beds are quite comfortable. The water pressure in the shower is like a mini massage the jets are so strong. The toiletries are first rate. The pool area and hot tub are lovely. Also are the large grounds that are complete with a jogging track and tennis courts. Breakfast is multi international stations. Try the Napalese potato/vegetable pancakes. But the best and most surprising experience was room service. The journey to Kathmandu was more than 35 hours. So we elected to dine in the first night. The menu is huge, tempting and very international. We shared chicken momos, chicken tandoori, red curry prawns and fried cottage cheese balls with saffron syrup. Without a doubt, it was our finest room service dining experience of our life! We would stay here again and highly recommend this fine hotel.
