I have stayed at this hotel twice and both times I was very satisfied with the quality of service, the comfort of the rooms and location. The breakfast buffet is conveniently located in the hotel lobby and reasonable. For lunch and dinner, there's many options in town. The metro station is across the street and connected through a mall that's accessible from the hotel. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next visit.
"Good Service, nice rooms"
I really enjoyed my stay. I was there for the Montreal Salsa Convention. Rooms are clean, the staff was supper nice. My only concern were the elevator, they should fix problems with those. The floor indicator were not working and apparently not all of them were working.
"Poor Customer Service"
I have stayed at least a dozen Hyatt Regency's in recent years and this one is by far the worst. The first experience I had was at the front desk to check in. The system was down so we could not check in right away, that's okay, I understand that these things happen but when you just stare at us and throw your palms to the sky and don't offer any real help other than coming back later, it puts a bad taste in my mouth. The front desk was repeatedly not helpful and they often made me feel like I was bothering them when I had a question. Aren't Canadians supposed to be friendly' Other than the poor customer service at the front desk, the hallways and elevators were very run down and dirty. My floor had this strange white powder everywhere on the floor, not okay for a Regency. The good parts: location was great, the pool and spa were quite nice, room was adequate. My advice: throw on some of that Canadian friendliness that I received everywhere else but the Hyatt Recency.
"Once of the least pleasant hotels I have stayed in"
I am having trouble finding anything really nice to say about this hotel. My room was very dated, the bed was really hard and had lumps on its surface and the spread at the end of the bed looked stained. To be fair the pillows were comfortable, there were two bottles of free water and the air conditioning worked. The fridge in the room was very noisy. This hotel does not recycle paper or bottles in the rooms which is unconscionable in 2017. It also does not provide any options for not changing the linen every day. The elevators are dreadfully slow and when I checked out today at noon there was one person at the desk although there was a long line up behind me. The bar area is dark and gloomy and has the feel of a 1970's disco bar. If the Hyatt is renovating I really hope they get it done soon because this would not be a go to place in Montreal. Some of the staff with whom I had contact were fantastic.
"Nice hotel with a great location"
I stayed here for a conference and found that there were so many places I could easily walk to, including attractions and restaurants. The hotel staff was very nice and promptly helped me whenever I needed it. There was still renovations going on but they didn't bother me at all. It was perfectly quiet when I was trying to sleep and the room was nice and dark. I slept like a log (which often doesn't happen).
