"Excellent customer service from Dilon!!!"
We stayed last week on the first floor by the pool with a sliding door and patio to the back. Although the hurricane shut them down for a while, they just re-opened the non-tower rooms and they are terrific. The tower got hit really bad from the storm and they are busy trying to re-open that part of the hotel of which we have stayed many times a year for many years. Now staying on the first floor outside buildings was so fantastic that we will probably not even try to stay in the tower - although it is quite fantastic. We had one problem with our door lock and Dilon (manager) took care of it right away and made us feel like family there. If you are thinking of a place in Fort Lauderdale, this is unbeatable in my opinion. The sights around the property are beautiful and it is truly paradise for me.
"Not a great stay"
I have stayed at this hotel in the past and had no complaints. This visit I had to pay 400 per night due to the boat show. I had booked a pool view room. Upon arrival we were taken about as far from the pool as you can get. Tried calling the front desk and the phone did not work. Upon complaint we were finally moved. We were told by the person who moved us that Pelican Landings was closed but told by front desk it was open. He was to call us and let us know the status—never heard from them. We were to have breakfast included but upon eating breakfast I was asked for my coupon. I was never given any so had to stand in line at front desk while others were eating breakfast. For 400 a night we did not receive any quality of service. Also we received a nice plate of chocolates in our room but upon reading the message it was for someone else. Hotel needs updating
This hotel is set in a stunning area surrounded by waterways moored in which are some of the worlds most impressive private yachts. This sparks dreams of living a luxurious lifestyle which unfortunately is not what you get at this hotel. The room is old and very tired, so tired in fact that within the first quarter of an hour I was inside the toilet cistern to fix it so it would flush. The room is almost noisiest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Bath, basin, toilet operation from any of the surrounding rooms may as well have been at the end of my bed. The bed was clean and well presented but hellish uncomfortable and the pillows were like sleeping with my head on bail of hey. I guess pillows are a matter of preference, as is the cleanliness of a bathroom. This particular bathroom is not amazing at all. The tiles were stained with rust from the door hinges and the rest just looked grubby. The air conditioning system was not dissimilar to the sound one hears when an aircraft engine is started but it doesn’t run consistently so is off and on all night. Whilst we are on the subject of aircraft, the local airports departing traffic didn’t help us get any sleep either. The staff are okay, some need a little polishing and I was barked at by the waitress in the lobby bar, “what can I get for you” would have been preferable “YOU'”. Anyway, 3rd hotel in 3 nights after a 1500 mile drive, it’s by far the most expensive and by far the worst. To sum it up, it’s like Butlins in 80’s! Nice setting though
We recently visited this hotel for our friends wedding. I have to say the hotel was fantadtic. They just re opened after hurricane irma. The staff were really friendly, could not do enough for you. Anything we needed the staff would try and help. A special thank you has to go to Michelle Mayor -catering manager whom I was emailing before going to ensure the hotel was opening. Michelle also ensured everything ran perfectly for our friends wedding day at the hotel. Also a special thank you to the conceirge who recommended a trip to see the alligators and arranged our transport there and back and also arranged for us to be picked up to take us to the port for our cruise. Highly recommended
"Good hotel but tired"
Stayed for 2 nights post cruise. Not inexpensive but comfortable. The room we had overlooked the marina and was a large well equipped room. My only issue is that it needs to be modernised as it is a bit dated and tired. Food in expensive and parking at £20per night for hotel guests is crazy! Will stay again though
