The location next to chain bridge is perfect. The river view rooms are great. The service from all of the staff was excellent. A great experience. We will stay here again. You should consider this as a top choice for a pleasant Budapest holiday. Restaurants are nearby within two or three blocks and are plentiful.
"Lousiest intercontinental I ever stayed"
I am currently staying in intercontinental Budapest I am terribly appalled by the lousy level of treatment I received as their ambassador member which is supposedly the highest recognition in their loyalty program . Firstly when I arrived the counter staff a lady failed to recognise I am a ambassador member despite me trying to show my status . She kept insisting I am a platinum member . By the way ambassador is a paid recognition program which now I realise gives you nothing but just confirmed upgrade to the next level of room . Secondly I asked a couple of times what is the room I can or have booked in that allow my upgrade to club floor , she kept telling me it’s not upgradable and only can bought as if I could not afford repeatedly. Next moment she called the floor duty manager out to repeat the same like a parrot implying that I can’t understand her fantastic English . I simply can’t understand why intercontinental properties have different rules and regulation vs my recent stay in Thailand which was impeccable. The hotel here in Budapest is old ,run down with lousy service and managed by staff who talk down to you and manage high handed maybe because they have lots of mice and business . Next was the club floor , when I opted to pay for the access , I was told certain food is not free flow or I can’t order the same food cause it’s limited and was asked to return later at end cocktail hour to see if there are “left over” and perhaps they can spare me a few since I can’t eat the veal or beef earlier in their inconsiderate menu . When I compare this to your hotels in Asia , they have a Long way to go and you really need to fire your gms , front desk , duty mangers who are poorly managing your Budapest property . They need to learn what is hospitality , it’s not just putting on a smily face as they are far from it ! Their counterpart m gallery Sofitel Prague changed a whole bed for me because I complained the bed being too soft given its european style . I am so glad I choose Sofitel over you guys in Prague . Their service was impeccable! I will start shunning away from your Ihg properties as I am so disappointed it’s not value for money but just brand value money . Pls learn from Accor folks ! I will never come back to your intercontinentals in Europe Nor join your ambassador club anymore as it’s a joke program . I still have a few more booked nites in ihg properties wish me luck ! "the best choice in Budapest with the most iconic view ever!!!!"
This was my second time in Budapest, and the end of a trip that was almost for 2 months through Europe, so I though, in Budapest I want to have the best view, and decided to book a room with the view to the Buda Castle and the Chain Bridge. Well, WORTH EVERY PENNY SPENT. The view is BREATHTAKING and the hotel is a really 5* hotel. The staff is always ready to support you, the breakfast is more like a festival of food, facing the Danube river. The cleaning, the rooms, the bed, shower, everything is perfect. Plus, is close to everything in Budapest. I was in the room 925, which is the highest floor, perfect choice. So for me, after a long journey, to arrive in my room and have that view all for me, was priceless. With no doubt when I come back to Budapest, I'll be staying in this hotel again. You can see the pictures I took from my window in my instagram, fabiolla_loureiro. BEST CHOICE!!
"Best Location in Pest"
Hotel is on the banks of Danube, one block from Chain Bridge. View at night is spectacular. Very comfortable room. Many restaurants nearby. Hotel restaurant was excellent for dinner and the buffet breakfast.
"Perfect Start to Our Trip"
We stayed at this hotel prior to a Danube Cruise. This hotel made a fantastic city even better. The hotel was clean, had a great staff, an amazing breakfast complete with an omelet chef, and a perfect location. We could walk to all the wonderful sights and in the evening we could sit on their patio, enjoy a drink and marvel over the beautiful views of the Danube and the Castle. I would recommend this to everyone as a perfect start for a trip.
