It's grandeur from the moment you enter the hotel and reluctantly decide to leave it's premises! You kind of feel special from the moment you enter and receive a very warm welcome in the opening hall at the reception desk - to the attentive bartenders in the plush Carlton bar, and even in the quaint elevator and obviously luxurious hotel room. The staff is always smiling and seemingly effortlessly are making your stay the very best hotel experience in your life. It is that top level of attentiveness that also make it stand out. Of course, it's stunningly beautiful from marble columns in the bar to the magnificient wide hallways to your room. The concierge was helping us out far beyond our expectations by giving us answers to questions that we would've asked after we'd visited a place we wanted go to. And, of course, that made our days so much fuller and richer. The professional bartenders also paid heed to our amateur suggestions for drink alterations with a profound curiosity and making suggestions to improve it further. They could've simply turned us down, but they didn't. We are definitely coming back! Just a tip about using wifi: When we ordered wifi from the room, we didn't properly look at the details and hence paid for a much bigger bandwidth that we actually needed. Our mistake.
"THE OLD LADY OF THE SEA"
I love The Carlton in spite of itself. The Carlton sits on the best location in Cannes...great view of the sea from our large but worn suite!!! The staff is terrific...in spite of a little snafu by our travel assistant...we did not show for the first night of our reservation....and when we arrived there was no reservation....it was soon mitigated and we were ensconced in our suite. The suite need refurbishing...we were told it had been...we have stayed there many time before and complained of same...but mayb the film fest is hard on hotels!!! The concierges are great...and extremely helpful....The hotel Is fine.....just dont exspect a true five star hotel!!!
"High standards, good quality"
We do not visit IC hotels very often, rather the Holiday Inns but as it was my great anniversary with my fiancee I decided to picked IC Carlton and it indeed has been the best decision ever. I contacted the hotel few weeks before arrival asking for a nice room to celebrate our anniversary and my query has been responded by the GM directly. I was very honoured by this matter and really happy as he offered me a free room upgrade. Service was just perfect, rooms were spacey, clean and the bed was supercomfy. Bathroom was simply beautifu and well equipped. Also the breakfast selection was sooo wide we didn't know what to try first. Overall, thank you Carlton for making our anniversary as memobable. It's nice to see how big hotels take care of their guests.
"Far exceeds "
As ambassador members, my husband and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of days during the Euro's 2016, as we had a little break in between following the team we support. So we decided to extend and make a holiday and spend time here in Cannes to have our Babymoon :) From the moment we entered till the time we departed I cannot fault on any aspect of the service we have received. It far exceeded our expectations and we have very high expectations especially when it comes to great customer service. I would unreservedly recommend this hotel to you.
"Doesnt honour any ambassador or Spire benifits and punishes you for loyalty"
Currently on day 4 of a 1 week stay and its a disaster. Hotel gave me the worst and smallest room and im a Spire Ambassador who did more than 100 nights last year with IHG. IHG is such a convoluted program that doesnt reward anything for loyalty. This hotel claims they allocated all the rooms and cant give me anything with a partially better view. than the construction view. Despite all my calls to IHG and Ambassador Care, the hotel just gives me false promises. Everyday they say "tomorrow." They didnt offer breakfast or even a bottle of water. They told me pressing is free yet they billed 42 euros to press a couple of shirts. Had I known the hotel was going to act so cheap with me and with resentment I would have never stayed here. Its too late for me to change now as all the decent hotels are booked over the festival
