"Excellent Location. 1.7mi to Tianamen Sq. 1.8mi to Silk Mkt., older but good quality"
Nice hotel that would stand up to most older Hilton properties. Good amenities including three or four restaurants that were reasonably priced considering that they were in a big hotel. Breakfast was included in our package and was excellent including a western breakfast and a Chinese breakfast buffet. Many items cooked to order as well. Safe and a reasonable value for a traditional western style hotel.
"Nice Stay at JianGuo Garden Hotel"
Very good location. The hotel itself was ok. the bed and pillows very comfortable. Terrible experience with wifi. In room wifi only available if you have a Chinese mobile number. Otherwise you could only get free wifi in the lobby of the hotel. If you plan to exercise note that the gym does not open until 10am.
"Used to be Goo But Rooms Are Disgusting Now"
I stayed at this hotel many years ago and it was quite nice. In fact the lobby and the restaurants still look like a reasonably 4 star. However, when it comes to the rooms they are a disaster -- particularly the carpets. I needed to change rooms twice just to get a room that may not have long-term negative health benefits. Nothing has changed in these rooms in 10 years. And, nothing renovated. There are also few restaurants in the area (Henderson Center is under renovations and everything there is now closed). The gym is nothing short or horrendous. Absolutely no equipment, they want to charge to use, and it does not open until 10 am -- what a joke. Lobby 4 star and the rest 2 star.
"nice but not good service"
the only good thing about this restaurant is about the location, very central and next to BRT. However, this hotel is too old, seem like I live in 199x, the manager should improve the facilities. The food here was nice, especially Chinese food.
"Hotel was OK, close to subway"
This hotel is more like a 3***in western standards. Maids are nice and helpful, front desk staff not as helpful as we hoped. We are unable to get a taxi, for reasons unknown to us. The room is spacious, however it lacks the attention to detail, for example paint on the floor from whomever painted the trim. Shower curtain needs replacing. The buffet breakfast is really nice with lots of options and fresh omelettes. There are also 2 other restaurants which is a nice option but we haven't been to them yet. We tried to use the pool, however swim caps are required and strictly enforced. The location is great, right beside the subway. There are no restaurants outside the hotel, you have to take the subway. There is really nothing but banks and another hotel close by. The subway is so easy to navigate with the maps. It's really the only way to travel.
