Situation: Ideally located, the luxurious Kempinski Hotel Bahía Estepona Marbella is 5 minutes from Estepona and within walking distance of Puerto Banus and Marbella. The hotel is located two hours of other Andalusian cities, and a short ferry ride from Tangier in Morocco. The Kempinski Hotel Bahia is easily accessible by car, taxi or public transportation and is just 50 minutes from Malaga International Airport and 50 minutes from Gibraltar International Airport.
An excellent place for a luxury break. Very polite and genuinely friendly staff. Beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel with a choice of pools, bars and places to eat. Own private part of beach looking out onto the Mediterranean just a step from the gardens. Plenty of choice of restaurantsjust a walk away of you fancy a change. Estepona is only 10 minutes drive of you need a change of scenery, still retains some of its old charm. Plenty to do further afield.
"Staff fantastic very helpful.more suited to adults and alot of hidden extras if on hboard"
This hotel is lovely and the gardens very well laid out.How ever we were travelling first week in october half board .We had to dine in same restaurant 6 nights out of 7.The ice cream parlour was not always open and no childrens club available.we felt cheated as you are only allowed 65 euros for an evening meal even though we were hb it was not mentioned at time of booking. The menu offered was the same for six nights.we travelled with a baby and found it difficult as the restaurant is very adult .we needed the buffet restaurant but it was closed all week. Also they dont tell you its 10 euros per night parking.
"nice hotel but dirty beach"
The hotel room was looking its age with old and scratched furniture particularly on the balcony and a thick layer of dust under the bed (Room 705) . WLAN worked OK but so not really fast. Breakfast offered a great choice, but the F&B manager should check temperature of the hot plates like meatballs and bacon as they were cold every morning. The private beach in front of the hotel with sunbeds had not been cleaned for weeks judging by the piles of cigarette ends and plastic everywhere.. Food and drink prices in hotel are very high ( 3 euro for a 100ml bottle of water in the room) In the nearby Carrefour ( exit 158 from A7) you can purchase 1,5 lt bottles for €0,20. For a great choice of restaurants and bars turn left out of hotel and walk along beach to Laguna village ( 5mins) - everything from pizzas to indian, thai and chinese right on the seafront.Prices are 50% cheaper than in hotel. When driving from Malaga airport to hotel make sure to stay on A7 and not go onto AP7 as this will cost you 15 euros and is no quicker. Staff in hotel friendly and efficient. There is some noise from the motorway behind the hotel- Late check out to 1pm was possible. All in all OK but not worth high the prices this hotel demands.
"excellent hotel with great restaurant choices"
we had a relaxing week with almost perfect services staff is very friendly and helpful restaurants offer a great selection of food. a bit expensive though but there is a good alternative in walking distance so no need to have a car. we would only see one area of improvement ... which is the barteam that seemed to be unexperienced and had quite long time to serve us (20 mins from sitting down until we finally had two tequilla shots)
My husband and I came here for our first holiday in the Costa del Sol area. The room we received was fabulous with an nice size patio and a partial ocean view. I have no complaints about the room. The location of the hotel is not ideal without a car. We booked several tours through the hotel and were expected to be picked up at the hotel as we have always done unless told otherwise by the concierge. However for these tours we had to walk a short distance from the hotel, walk across a bridge that went over the busy highway, along a dirt path, between a road side barrier and then stand by a trash can (which marked the bus stop) along the busy road waiting for the bus to pick us up. This is not what we expected. So after that we arranged our own private tours where we were picked up at the hotel. We tried several of the hotel restaurants, but felt they were over priced and mediocre. While at the pool, several guests approached us as well to see if we had found any good places to eat. Luckily only a few days into our stay we learned that taking a cab to and from Estepona for dinner provided better meals, with about the same expense including the taxi rides. So we ate in town for the rest of the trip and had a better dining experience. Overall the staff was friendly and we had no issues. The pool area was very nice and wait staff were pleasant in the pool and beach area.
