"Very close to Beijing airport. Attention required when eatout."
Service and facilities are very good. You need attention when you eat out and go back to this hotel from downtown by taxi. Almost of them take you to the airpot terminal, even we say "Langhan Place Hotel". Then you can transfer to the Hotel`s circulated bus. Otherwise, order the driver to take you to the final destination, i.e. Langham, again and again. Since the distance of the hotel and the terminal is very short so drivers do not want to go to the Hotel passing through the terminal where many people are wating for taxi. In addition, Not everyone knows the hotel. The both I and my colleag were experienced this episode respectively.
"24 hour lay over due to delayed flight"
After missing my connecting flight due to a delay into Beijing, i just rocked up to the hotel at 3am and asked for a room. I found the hotel to be excellent in every way. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Also I ate twice and the food was great. Well done.
"Convenient for airport"
The only reason to stay here is the fact that it is at the airport, with a shuttle bus every 20 minutes. From Terminal 3 you can get the bus from gate 5 on level 1 (downstairs from arrivals). Cross over to the other side of the road to a bus stop shared with the Hilton and Crown Plaza. We arrived at about 9.30pm and check in at the hotel was extremely slow. We needed something to eat but The Place wouldn't serve us, despite being open for another 40 minutes. We had dumplings in the other restaurant 'Fuel', which were surprisingly tasty but turned out to be our most expensive meal in China! Breakfast in The Place was good and not too busy. The rooms were very spacious, with king-size beds.
"Reminder: Take Hilton Shuttle if u are staying there!"
Picked this hotel as I had a really tight schedule of meeting. It turns out a nightmare as after 40 minutes I still can't reach the hotel from airport. I followed the hotel instruction and waited for the shuttle at the parking lot mentioned on their official website. It was 4:01pm when I reached there so I believed I might have missed the 4:00pm bus. So I waited for the next one at 4:20. And it was closed to the time and I still didn't see any coach stopping at the parking lot advised by the hotel website. Called to the hotel and they told me they in fact shared the same shuttle as Hilton! They said they can't do anything and what I can do is to wait for the next one. And for that, I have to miss my meeting as it's really late after all these. There is no sign telling you on spot except an almost ripped off logo of Langham on the Hilton bus (I noticed only when I look for it finally). I wondered how others found their way to Langham hotel. Maybe I shouldn't read the instruction of "2nd parking lot" on the website. I complained to the hotel manager at the time of arrival. Hope they will really update their information on their website or at least put some signs on the bus drop so others won't suffer. P.S. The concierge is not helpful at all in arranging alternative transport for me even though I told him I was on in rush and need to get to hotel to leave my luggage asap. There is no other transportation (including taxi nor limo) for such a short distance. I can only wait for 20mins more for another bus... Got an upgrade to Suite in the end, but it didn't compensate the loss of time...
"Great but caution on Club Room option"
Dependably luxurious/spacious/quiet but if you choose executive room club option, be aware that club only opens at 5:30 pm and 6:30 am respectively and if you are arriving in Beijing at 3 or before or leaving from the airport before 11 am the next morning as we did, you are likely going to have to both wait while jetlagged in afternoon and miss morning option because of need to be at airport early to check in/go through security. Opening 1/2 hour earlier each time would be helpful to guests such as us, who might otherwise want to consider skipping executive room option and using restaurant downstairs. (There is afternoon tea 3 pm to 5 pm (nothing between 5 and 5:30) it's not much.) Good shuttle.
