Fantastic breakfast. Full of healthy stuff, like freshly squeezed carrots and ginger and orange. The room on 4th floor was chic and super clean. Had the chance to meet the general manager, felt really welcome, will be back
I've been staying at this hotel for almost 9 years now with over 700 nights, and i can only say that it's a 2nd home for me. They definitely know what the meaning of pampering a frequent guest is and the staff are very friendly and extremely professional. I always look forward to get back to it time after time. If there is one thing i would note to the staff was the consistency of the room service but this was understood since they always have these staff rotations and have trainees over short periods, and this definitely adds up to the hotel strategy and development.
"One night with wife & 4 yr old"
It was a last minute decision, since we figured that our research was wrong and Mercedes and Porsche museums were NOT near the Motorworld at Bolingen. Booked the hotel on my SPG App, got a standard room, with b/f for 240€ a night, for 2 adults and a kid. It's about 10 minute Walk from the Stuttgart Central station, but not easy to walk with large luggage, as you will need to invest few steps. The whole of central Stuttgart is a giant construction site, so the view from Le Meridien is completely spoilt, and will probably remain so for a long while. Better to get a hotel next to the station if you are keen on Central location, or near the old palace/ town square, but anything around the main arterial road leading up to the station can be avoided. Hotel wise, good, rooms are large, breakfast is pretty good with lot of choices, but not multi cuisine, and not much of a live counter. Overall 6/10, for 240€ a night, due to the location being compromised extensively by the construction around. Takes about 7-10€ by cab to the station, which is the central location for everything, shopping, restaurants, catching the hop on and off bus, the public gardens, palace, town hall, opera etc. Keep a few days for Stuttgart, it's small, and beautiful, and has lots to do besides the car museums! Which will take up a day! Le Meridien is walking distance to the gardens and city centre, but there are other options which maybe better off at this point due to the construction- as I mentioned earlier.
"My First Meridien "
Very nice experience. Hotel wise the rooms are just luxurious and great. 10 minutes walk from the railway station. The Spa needs to be used! Restaurant: German specialities. Try "Maultaschen" German ravioli. The cocktails are to be used and abused. Bartenders Mousa and Chriss... just ask for them! Very kind and professional!
"Not the greatest location but a very good hotel"
Stayed here for 2 nights. Arrived a little before check in time, was warmly greeted and allowed to check in early. Spacious, newly refurbished room which looked very clean. There were 2 vouchers in the room. One for 2 complimentary coffees / cappuccino in the bar downstairs and the second for free entry into the art gallery a short walk from the hotel. I utilised both. There’s also a complimentary bottle of water in the room which I didn’t realise til I was leaving. The other thing I realised when I was emptying the safe before I left is that there was a charging point in the safe so I could have charged laptops etc. while in there. free wifi. Bathroom had a shower with a large shower head which was nice. The rail with the towels was a bit high and I had to tippy toe to reach the towels (I’m 5ft 2). The only problem with the room was that despite having a kettle, there were no mugs, coffees, teas etc. When I rang down to enquire about this I was told that I’d have to pay for them!''! This confused me no end and I asked why on earth they’d have a kettle in the room if these weren’t supplied. Anyway I voiced my disapproval and left it at that. The next day they kindly delivered a few complimentary teabags. Very kind of them. The spa was lovely and I virtually had it for private use on all my visits. Didn’t use the pool but used the various saunas, the steam room, the heated beds and hot tub were great as was the relaxation area. It was included in price of the stay as was gym - which I didn’t use. There are also free apples and pears on offer. The walk to the spa is via the section that is currently being refurbished so I had to walk past builders etc. in my bathrobe. Not a problem for me. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the town centre but not a very scenic walk. There’s a lot of building work going on around the hotel and crossing the road nearby could be a bit tricky. Thankfully our room was far away from both the internal and external works so didn’t affect my stay. On the day I checked out I was permitted to stay an extra hour in the room at no charge and was able to sit comfortably at a desk in the lounge and do so work for a few hours. I was even given a code so I could continue using the internet even after my room login had been disabled.
