"Great hospitality "
Thank you to the staff of this hotel they are always helpful. I locked myself out of my room so I called down to the front desk, Mikaela the manger on duty brought me up a key. She made sure I had everything when I got back into my room
"Great Location-Convenient Access to all kinds of transportation"
I chose to stay at the Liaison Capitol hotel during this stay (9/14-18/2017)for the walking convenience to the US Capitol. Within a few blocks of the hotel is Union Station, the DC Circulator, etc. These means of transportation are also convenient for travel to the Washington DC touristy attractions as well as off the beaten path places to see while in the area. I enjoyed my stay here. I must say both Naushad and Oumou at the front desk, made check in and check out hassle free. The room was always clean and the bed sooo comfy. A complimentary coffee and cocktail voucher are provided for the Art and Soul adjoining restaurant. I probably would not have tried this restaurant had it not been for the vouchers. But I found the food to be exceptionally good ( a little pricey-but worth it). The gentleman who mans the coffee/morning snack section of the restaurant during the weekdays is pleasant and a nice addition to those who are grabbing something for the morning commute, etc. I would stay here again when in the DC area.
"Great hotel perfect location "
This was our second stay at The Liaison Capitol Hill. 27th August - 2 September. Previously October 2014. This time it was for 6 nights with our 2 boys (14 & 10) so had a room with 2 queen beds in a quiet location as requested, so we were not overlooking the street. Great room, good quality linen and comfortable beds. Housekeeping was great, always friendly and a credit to hotel. The largest HD TV in a hotel room must have been 55"! Although didn't use it much as we were on vacation but good to catch morning news & weather. Hotel is in prime location, 4 minutes walk from Union station, US Capitol at the end of the street. Impressive to see it lit up at night. Easy walking distance to all DC sights. Good food places close by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner if required. Walmart 6 minutes walk for snacks or liquor store on corner for snacks, soda's etc Small business centre, printing Boarding Passes is FREE. Swimming pool was open looked great but didn't get time to squeeze a dip in, as so much to do in DC. Had an issue with my billing after check in. Could have been handled better by the front desk, in like they made a mistake tried to correct it but made same mistake again. Front desk should have called me in my room at this point to explain they made a mistake instead of letting it go. Next morning I discovered my credit card had been charged twice with same amount. Front desk firstly said it would get refunded on check out..... then said they only put transaction mistakenly through once not twice when I went to see them. Training needs identified here for numerous members. 1) They should have called me as soon as they made mistake to explain situation 2) Should have contacted their accounts team or emailed them to say mistake made and transaction reversal required. 3) Should have been honest with me if they didn't know how to correct it and not leave me to chase up to get it corrected. However I accept we can all make mistakes but it's how you deal and learn from them that distinguishes a good experience. Fortunately I contacted the accounts team in the hotel. Cynthia turned my some what lacking 2 day's of experiences with the front desk on it's head in just a few minutes. Wow I was sorted out, mistakes rectified and refund monitored by Cynthia. Also a goodwill gesture to cover the inconvenience and differential in exchange rates when being refunded in foreign currency. Thanks Cynthia you are a real star and deserve a special mention. I just wish I'd spoken to you / front desk notified you earlier of the mistake so you could have cancelled the pre authorisations on my card as easier to do this than refund. Anyway it didn't spoil our vacation once Cynthia was involved. All this came about due to the 'Resort Fee' imposed at check in. As we booked and paid for this stay in October 2016 prior to these fees WiFi was included so I didn't want to be charged for them and emailed the hotel months before our stay to note not to charge me. Doh you made it worse. Now this 'Resort Fee' needs to stop. WiFi is free in every other hotel throughout the world I've stayed in. It was also free for pre booked in advance stays like I did. But now you package it with the bottle of water in the room worth $2 at most, news reader app for news from around the world for $22 per night.... News reader app...really'' Connected devices can obtain news stories from the internet, these stories can be from what ever part of the world you're interested in. So that app has no benefit for the customer. For an additional $22 per night per room it's a real tidy income generation project you've got going here. Bring back the FREE WiFi. So thanks to Cynthia who rescued a potentially disastrous billing mistake our vacation wasn't spoilt and we had a great time in DC. We would stay here again as it's a great hotel just a few blips that need addressing otherwise 5 stars would have been earned.
"Quick Stay in DC"
Love staying at the Liaison Capitol Hill DC when I am looking to take the train from Union Station. The customer service is to notch and the rooms are clean and quiet. It is conveniently located to great restaurants in the area, as well as some downtown site seeing destinations. I look forward to staying at the Liaison again in the future!
"A Pleasant Week in DC"
We stayed for a week to sightsee and enjoy DC before Congress came into session and school began. It was a pleasant and memorable experience. The hotel was well-maintained, clean, and the housekeeping and front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
