"Close to airport and national park"
We chose the Mabu Interludium Iguassu because of its proximity to the airport and the Igaussu Park. We stayed for one night after a day of sightseeing then flew to Rio the next day. The hotel new and clean but the rooms are quite basically furnished. They are comfortable and the free WiFi and air-conditioning worked. As in most midrange South American hotels the only TV channel in English is CNN. The hotel is located on the edge of town and is accessed through a residential community that has a poorly maintained road. It is isolated from restaurants and nightlife. The supper buffet was adequate, typical convention meal, and fair priced. Wine was ridiculously expensive but the beer reasonable. The hotel grounds are extensive and well maintained. The outdoor pool was inviting. There is a fitness center and kids area. This hotel worked perfectly for us as we had an excellent tour – the best in our South America trip - with Tourismo Privativo Foz that drove us to the hotel after touring and also to the airport the following morning. We drove through the main town from the Argentine border and it was much more developed than the one in Argentina. If we were planning to stay longer, 5 days, we would have rented a car and stayed at one of the hotels on the Brazilian side.
Very nice hotel! Very good food and the location is very nice! All the facilities are ok! The pool is very nice! Quiet and peaceful location. Near from the center of Foz do Iguacu. Lot of bars and restaurants in the city! Iguacu Fall are amaizing!
This hotel is new and looks great with spacious rooms, but it lies in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant and the service is, however, totally like the TV series Faulty Towers with John Cleese. Food and drinks are a very long time coming, and you are very lucky if you get what you ordered. We ordered a bottle of wine from the wine list, and after 45 minutes we were told that they did not have that wine! Another couple ordered two identical burgers, but one of them had an omelette! You are told to sign the bill with your room number and signature, but they mess this up so that some tables were given the wrong bills or bills from other tables. And they had the audacity to wake up guests in their rooms after midnight to tell them that they had not signed their bills even though they actually had done so. And all bills were cramming with errors,. On top of that they could not add up figures correctly! We advise everybody to avoid this place.
"Good hotel for visiting the cataracts"
We stayed one night for visiting the cataracts. The rooms are modern and nice. The balcony at the 2nd floor are quite big but surrounded from 3 big walls which does not make it comfortable to stay and relax on the terasse. Dinner for 45 R is buffet, good food, reasonable price. Breackfast is ok, but nothing fancy. Good hotel, but nothing for staying longer than 1 day.
"Hard to access except by cab"
It's kind of far away from everything. There is a bus that stops nearby, but its hours are very limited. Be prepared to spend any money you save on the hotel on transportation. There is no transportation from the airport except by cab. The rooms were nice enough and clean. The breakfast bar was amazing.
