The hotel was in an ideal location for Manchester Arena and all the shops and restaurants. The hotel staff were all very friendly and made our stay feel special.Comment of G. Raj , United Kingdom the 2014-11-20
"What a discovery!"
We have a couple of days to spare before heading home to Dubai and decided to stay in Manchester. After a lot of checking around we found the Manchester Marriott Victoria and Albert hotel. So glad we did! Great value, a brilliant location right by the heart of the City, wonderful staff. The hotel is very tastefully set up and is not the usual standardised chain hotel layout. The bar and restaurant area is well laid out, cosy and welcoming and looking like it has recently been refurbished. The bedroom was nice but I must admit that our room on the first floor had a continual hum as if a generator was running somewhere nearby. It was only a five minute stroll into the heart of the City which was itself a real eye opener. Lovely people, great buildings and not overly busy like London. We would definitely come back here to stay on our next visit and cannot speak of it highly enough.
Offered a deal as it was my 71st birthday. Check in excellent with the Front Office Manager Mr Andrew Hindman. Room very nice and spacious, clean and comfortable. Minor problem with the TV and shower quickly sorted by Mr Hindman. Bar and lounge modern decor (we have been visiting this hotel for over 20 years and it has greatly improved in furnishing, decor and the staff are very kind and helpful. The only drawback, which is not the hotel's fault, is the amount of new high rise buildings in the area, especially across the river which blocks daylight and any sun we have at certain times of the day). Check out a little slow as an flight crew were checking in. Overall a very pleasant stay however.
"A really positive experience"
I booked a night at the V&A through Secret Escapes and got a superb deal for £79. The whole experience from start to finish was delightful. From the valet parking guys and the receptionist who booked us in, the staff in the restaurant and all the other members of staff who we met, they were to a person really friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable with a bottle of prosecco waiting for us when we got there. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very satisfying and of a very high quality. All in all a really good hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it
"Great service "
Great fast check in, room was fantastic really large, room had safe, tv, iron, ironing board (keeps the wife happy) desk, 2 arm chairs and great lighting. Bathroom had shower over bath shower was great, toiletries supplied dressing gowns and slippers and great fluffy towels. Definitely recommend. Good bar and breakfast as well 👍👍
"Could be better"
The hotel is really nice and interesting as it was previously a warehouse and some of the features still remain. We stayed for one night and had a super, spacious room. The check-in procedure was good and informative. However the customer service in the restaurant could be better. We had booked afternoon tea on Saturday for two and this was only average, some of the bread was not fresh and the overall presentation was poor. Although they did charge us an extra 10% as a service charge. The staff at breakfast were not very welcoming, no greeting, just asked for room number. But our main problem was the hot food on the buffet was very cold, breakfast sent back twice. Room 105, 16/09/2017
