"Excellent base for touring the city "
we stayed 3 nights after travelling by train from Vienna. The location of the hotel is just outside the railway station, about 1.5km from the centre, however there is a tram stop just outside the hotel - tram takes about 10 mins. Room was very comfortable, nice modern decor and good shower/ ensuite. Breakfast had an excellent selection and was of good quality. Didn't eat in the hotel as there are many many good restaurants a good prices in the town. As a place to visit, I would throughly recommend both Bratislava and this hotel, it has a friendly atmosphere and is completely chilled - very relaxing with plenty to see for a 3 day break.
This is a very nice hotel. Although it is not located in the old town, there are buses that lead to the city centre. Contrary to what one would expect from a relatively big city, the hotel's close proximity to the main railway station should not be a source of concern as the surrounding area is busy and safe. The hotel is also well connected to the main bus station by public transport. The staff is nice and helpful. There is a room where you can iron your clothes. Breakfast is rich and varied. The Wi-Fi signal inside the room is strong. TV programmes are mostly available in English, French, German, Slovak, and to a lesser extent in some other languages (although there was something wrong with the signal of the French programmes in my room). At first I thought the big portrait of Marilyn Monroe in my room was kind of weird, but it gives personality to the place. A word of caution for those who are not travelling alone or in a couple or who simply prefer to have some privacy: there is no wall between the bathroom and the bedroom, only glass, so nothing stays private. Probably this is not the case for all rooms, but you'd better ask before booking. The only major inconvenience I experienced was that when I had to use the computers in the lobby the Wi-Fi signal was very poor and intermittent.
"Good value city hotel"
Check in was quick, staff were pleasant, rooms were clean and good size, breakfast was sufficient and the bar was well stocked and open until after midnight. It is a good 20 minute walk to the old town but the tram can be used. All in all a decent city hotel....
"Mercure Bratislava Centrum"
Excellent rooms, convenient and easy location - walking distance from the train location and to city center. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is over priced. Comforters on the bed are too warm for Spring and Summer months. Light weight bed sheet would be sufficient.
I really liked this hotel. The location is great, not a long walk from the old town and just few steps away from the main train station (trip to vienna!). The stuff is very nice and helpfull. You can reserve parking spot in the underground garage (€10 for a night) but there are also parking spaces near by. Those, right on the side of the hotel are free but those marked with blue lines are payed.
