"Wonderful Hotel in an excellent location!"
The 4 of us visited for a long weekend which we thoroughly enjoyed! The hotel bedrooms were amazing, each having a large photograph of by gone actress on the wall above the bed! We had 'Romy Schneider' & our friends had 'Ingrid Bergman' there were different photo's around the hotel....it was different but lovely! The decor throughout the hotel is lovely....very bright! We were Bed & Breakfast & breakfast was amazing......the Prosecco in a morning helped! Lol! It took us 10 minutes to walk into the centre & the Railway Station is just up the road from the hotel, which was great for the day we went to Vienna 14 Euro's return & the journey is only an hour! Two cities in 1 weekend was excellent value & we loved both cities..we will definately be back to Bratislava & when we do it will be back to the Mercure Centrum Hotel!
"Excellent all round"
An EXCELLENT HOTEL. Fabulous food, good choice of wine and beer. The staff were very considerate and certainly go the extra mile. We would only ever stay in The Mercure when we visit again - Outstanding
Smart modern hotel.Very good breakfast. Friendly helpful and efficient staff. Good location only 5 mins walk from rail station and 15 mins walk from old town. Did not eat in restaurant so cannot comment on that
"Nice hotel; questionable location, room for improvement"
We stayed here during our 2.5-week tour of Central Europe. After staying in a luxurious hotel in the City Center in Prague (The Art Nouveau Palace Hotel), we took the train and got fleeced taking a cab to the hotel, which was a block or two away. Don't fall for cabbies who claim not to speak English and then take you for a ride, literally. It's in spitting distance, really. The hotel is tidy, clean and modern. About our only complaint is that it has an ashtray in front of its front steps, which encourages all of the smokers to smoke in front of the lobby doors. Take a deep breath and push through the throng. We used a site called Agoda to book the hotel. Won't use them again. Paid in advance for a Superior Double Room. Upon arrival, received a standard double room. Returned to front desk and were given remaining Superior Double Room after showing our booking paperwork. Peter at front desk was apologetic and made Agoda's mistake right. He gave us the last superior room, which was on the first floor over the alley and the Dumpsters. It was a spacious and clean room, but quiet it wasn't. Every morning, we listened to staff yacking it up as they foisted debris into the giant garbage bins. So we got our superior room but sacrificed silence. Oh well. The room came with great perks such as free bottled water and snacks, which was a godsend after the considerable walking we did each day. As I said hotel was within spitting distance to train station, convenient to city center buses, and we walked to old town and river every day and it was not more than 15-20 minutes each way. Peter gave excellent dinner recommendations; happy with all of them. Mercure Hotel has great properties in Budapest, for instance, so we're a little curious why this one was in kind of sketch area. We never felt unsafe and hotel and rooms were top drawer; one and a half bathrooms even in large and comfortable superior room. Might stay there again with right pricing incentive.
"Mercure Bratislava Centrum"
Excellent service provided during. Easy access to hotel and in-house parking. Although must delayed due to air-traffic and weather the personnel managed my booking very professional and caused no major issues.
