"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay "
We stayed here 3 nights. The hotel has a good central location - out the hotel, turn left, take the second right and walk straight down and there is Copacabana beach. About a 5/10 minute walk (safe walk). The Main Street is a couple of blocks down with restaurants and shops. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and very big. We even had a sauna in our room! Nice comfy bed. A little noisy as we were facing the road, but we were so tiered we slept right through it. There was a safe and a really good shower. Breakfast was basic but nice, toast, fruit, cereal and some hot food to. We really enjoyed our stay here. The pool on the top floor as an amazing view!
"Clean and comfortable"
This hotel was included in a package tour we did of Brazil. We were given the local cocktail as our welcome drink which was most enjoyable. Our room was clean and comfortable with a great view of Christ the Redeemer Statue. The included breakfasts were reasonably good. However after a full days sight seeing we decided to have an evening meal in the hotel---bad decision. The lack of customers should have been a clue as to the awful food. The waiters did their best in this disappointing situation.
"Nice hotel in central location"
The staff speak excellent English. The rooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is a bit limited but what is there is delicious. The hotel is a short walk from the Copa Cabana beach which we walked to on a evening to enjoy the beach bars. There is a small swimming pool which was refreshing after sightseeing in the sun.
"Great Rio de Janeiro Hotel"
We stayed 3 nights at The Mirador at the beginning of June. Despite arriving after 9pm we were welcomed warmly with immediate help with our cases by the porter. The curtains were drawn and due to the time difference with UK we gratefully dropped into a comfy bed and slept really well. Our room was quiet and we were not disturbed at any time during our stay. The following morning we were surprised and really pleased to have an uninterrupted view of Christ The Redeemer on the top of Corcovado! Seeing Christ The Redeemer lit up at night was special too! There was plenty of hot water and toiletries for our showers with fluffy white towels. Breakfast was buffet-style but the choice of food on offer from cereals, fruit, pastries, cold meats and cheese, fruit, breads to hot freshly made scrambled egg and of course Brazilian coffee set us up for our day of sightseeing. The staff are very friendly and obliging. The hotel is conveniently placed for the beaches, shops and general Rio sightseeing. I have no hesitation in recommending anyone to stay at this hotel when visiting Rio de Janeiro.
"Good hotel with helpful staff"
We stayed at this hotel cause it was easy to get everywhere either by metro or taxi. The metro station was less than 5 min walk or if you prefer the hotel doorman would call a taxi. Copacabana beach was 10 min walk. We booked our trip to Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf mountain at the hotel reception. The visit was very good with an english speaking guide. Our room on the 10th floor was adequate. The only thing missing was shower gel and the lotion was cheap quality. The water pressure in the shower was good. The breakfast had a good selection. We had dinner in the hotel once which was good. We had difficulty ordering room service as the staff could not understand english. The swimming pool was small with few loungers and seating but it was enough as most of the guests went out.
