If you like the Copacabana beach, this hotel's location gets you there within 2 blocks. The rooftop has a good glimpse of Christ the Redeemer, which is nice. But there were not enough sockets in the room - there was just 1 in the bedroom and another one in the bathroom. The hair dryer turns off after only a few minutes and needed to be turned off for a couple of minutes before use again. Breakfast was nothing great - no variety therefore you eat the same thing everyday. The wifi in the room is ok - at least it's available. They were kind enough to keep our luggage after check-out since we don't leave for the airport til late at night.
"Not much going for it"
Let's start with the good - breakfast and helpful front office; that's it! otherwise pretty average. Room awful, A/c on and set at 18 and like a jet engine, or off ( for quiet) and roasted. Hotel very tired, run down and not recommended
"Once was probably a great hotel"
Let me start by saying I did not have a terrible stay here. But I can only speak based on my 8th-floor room which was severely outdated and some fixtures were crooked or had holes in the wall. We also had a random third single bed in the room (there were 2 of us) and there was only one outlet in the main room which was located under a lightswitch. So any charging had to be done in the bathroom. Our other travelling companions had a room across the hall with a different layout (2 beds and a chair) and more outlets, so I guess it's a luck of the draw. The lobby is gorgeous, so it's a bit misleading and the rooftop bar/pool area is also very nice. We had wonderful views up there to see the sunset. The location also can't be beat, as it is 2 blocks from the beach. There were also many restaurants and shops nearby. The staff was very nice as well and the restaurant had an amazing breakfast with tons of options and delicious pastries. Also, lots of fresh fruit.
We stayed in a Mirasol hotel while visiting Rio. Hotel is clean, breakfast is good, location perfect, one block behind Copacabana Palace with lots of stores around and bars. 200m to Copa beach. Near metro. Good price for good value. Would recommend. Max working on the reception is THE man! He is very polite, friendly and helpfull. Thanks!!
"Excellent location. Worth a try!"
We were upgraded for a top floor room, with a bathtub and side views of the beach, were stayed three adults and a 2 year-old toddler with all comfort you could imagine. Going up one set of stairs, we reached this beautiful swimming pool with stunning views of Copacabana Beach, some gym equipment and a sauna. The Hotel is located two blocks from the beach, right behind the iconic Copacabana Palace, so you can walk around and explore this touristic part of Rio de Janeiro. Very nice breakfast included with assorted cold and hot food. Helpful staff too, especially at reception. The only thing I didnt like was having to pay for parking our car. :-(
