"Impeccable hotel. Absolutely wonderful."
This is among the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. The history of the hotel, the location and the view is second to none. The Matterhorn view is simply breathtaking. The service, food, pool, concurrence and fitness facilities are implacable. Look forward to coming back. Truly 5 star service and facilities all around. We can't wait to come back to Mont Cervin.
"Please take me back!"
The experience of staying at Mont Cervin begins when they pick you up from the train station by a horse-driven carriage. The hotel has this rustic ski charm to it while also being well-maintained and clean. It may seem a bit out dated in terms of design but I think that's what adds to the charm. Our room was very spacious and had unbeatable views of the Matterhorn. We only ate breakfast there because there are so many cool and fun dinner places in town but the breakfast buffet was huge and delicious. The ski/boot room is awesome, has everything you need and you get your own locker. The location is by far the best as it is right in the center of town.
"Fairy tale carriage and a balcony facing the Matterhorn!!"
A memorable experience! We were picked up at the train station by a beautiful, red horse-drawn carriage (we didn't know about this, so imagine our surprise!) and driven through the town to the hotel. Tourists were taking pictures of us in our carriage! We were given a lovely suite with the best feature of the hotel - a long balcony, covered in classic Swiss flower boxes, with a direct view of the Matterhorn! My best photos of the Matterhorn are from my balcony. The room had large windows, so when you woke up in the morning and opened the curtains, the Matterhorn was right there in front of you. The room decor was slightly dated, but who cares with that view. The hotel has a spa - not the most modern facility, but completely adequate. You're in Zermatt in a fairy tale setting with an amazing view of the Matterhorn from your room. Go for it.
"Charming, Beautiful Boutique Hotel"
We were happy to return to Mont Cervin after a long break. It was a relief to arrive in Zermatt after long 3 hour train journey from Zurich. we found a chariot waiting to transport us to our hotel since no cars are allowed in this little town on the alps. Only electric cars and horses. This charming hotel has a classic and country feel to it. Each room is furnished differently from the next with lots of unique collectors items standing out beautifully. We enjoyed our time during our stay here. There's a huge selection of breakfast spread you'll be spoilt for choice. Their fine dining restaurant as well as the grill each provided a different but enjoyable experiences. It's a very convenient place to stay if you're skiing as they have all the kits available in the basement without having to leave the premises. Mont Cervin is that one place that you'll always want to go back to, no matter how far and wide you've travelled.
"Great facilities, but perhaps a bit dated"
We came on a family ski trip and I am still trying to figure out how I feel about the Mont Cervin Palace. In terms of facilities, it is amazing: the pool is great, the ski hire shop is awesome and the ski/boot room is simply world class. And the service was spectacular as well. We stayed in an Alpine Room in the Le Petit Cervin and, it too, was fantastic (although the corridors look a bit tatty). However, the main hotel, the restaurants, the bar etc are all looking a bit dated and not befitting a hotel of this reputation. It's a grand dame of hotels, and I don't necessarily mean that in a nice way. The kind of thing my grandmother would have loved. The Seiler Group 'dine-around' option was brilliant, though, and therein lies my dilemma. On paper, it works oh so very well. It just lacked a certain je ne sais quoi.
