Club Noir is the best! Rafael and the bartenders remember your name, they are very friendly! Club Unique at the grand has an awesome setup, but as of right now it has yet to fill up. It's more low key, Noir is where it is at though!!
I recently returned from The Grand at Moon Palace where we were celebrating my mothers 80th birthday! What a wonderful time we had! Many choices for restaurants with very good food and service. I'd have to say they had the best buffet I've ever seen at a resort. I travel to resorts twice a year so I have seen my share. The employees were all friendly and kind. While some had limited English, they would at least smile and try to help or get someone who could. The pools were clean, we always found chairs available and also pool towels. There were 13 in our party so we could not eat together all the time, but that is to be expected. There were many pools to choose from, with new ones opening while we were there. Entertainment choices were available nightly, and the ones we went to were quite good. Our room was always clean, room service was delivered at our requested times. Internet service was excellent. Weekend was busier due to the locals coming, but it was still very nice. We saw groups of what looked to be new employees going around for orientations so they are working to get everything open and running. I would definitely return to this resort! While it is large, the walkways are convenient and make for an enjoyable stroll. Golf carts are available, and we only had to wait several times. But your in Mexico, so enjoy the beautiful weather and relax!! 🌴😎🍹
"Grand Experience at The Grand"
Airport to hotel- the trip from the airport to hotel was less than 15 minutes. Huge plus when you have been traveling all day and just want to get to your destination. Checkin- we were greeted with flowers and towels to tidy up with and worked off to the desk to check in. The checkin process was fast. Resort Credit- after checkin we had to meet with the person to activate our credits. She asked if we wanted to attend a meeting to hear more about the resort/condos to obtain more credits. We said no and I wouldn't budge on that so she activated our resort credits of $1,500 and we were on our way. Vacation Planners- as soon as we received our credits we headed to the vacation planners to book excursions. We used resort credits for swimming with dolphins and express visit to Tulum. We did not add additional excursions to these days which would be an out of pocket cost. I'm glad we didn't bc we would have been exhausted at the end of the day. Especially with Tulum bc after visiting the ruins we had a chance to visit the beach which was awesome. We also booked an excursion to Explorer Adventure park but we paid for this out of pocket. Resort-The resort and room was wonderful. Everything is new. The downside is there are several areas that are still under construction and are a bit of an eyesore and a bummer. They are in the process of building a giant water park by the kid center but unfortunately it wasn't ready during our stay. Everyday the room was cleaned and restocked (fridge and snacks) Room service- we ordered room service several times. A couple of times we were giving a estimated time of delivery but never received our food. My daughter was pissed bc she stayed up to 2am waiting. Shuttle bus- the shuttle buses run none stop. We never waited more than five minutes to jump between resorts. Kid Center- we visited all 3 playrooms. The sunrise playroom was geared towards babies. The nizuic playroom was ok for my 9 year old she stayed there a couple times during the week. Plus they had a movie theater. The grand was awesome bumper cars, video games, cafe area, rope climbing, lazy river, mirror maze, and a sectioned off baby area. Bowling- the grand has a bowling alley that uses $50 resort credit. Make sure you reserve the lanes early it books up fast. Great services and food & drinks are available. Resorts: Sunrise was more lively and had the best entertainment team. Along with the flow rider. Best main pool layout. Nizuic is in between but had the best pool side grill. The burgers were awesome. Grand is more laid back, but nice. Like I said we jumped between all resorts during the week long stay. Restaurants- Highly recommend reserving JC Steak house at the Grand upon arrival. It was one of the best restaurants we ate at during our stay. Second best was the Brazilian Steak house at Nizuic. We are there twice. Third was the buffet at the Grand👌. Gym- The Grand has THE best workout facility. It's not a bunch of mirrors to make the place look larger.
"Moon Palace Grand was amazing!"
We had originally booked for Sunrise or Nizuc but we're upgraded to the Grand. We were a bit dubious after reading many reviews concerning unfinished building etc but decided to try it out. We are so glad we did! We travelled as a family of 4 with and 8 & 12 year old. The rooms were spacious with large balconies and jacuzzi. The facilities at the hotel were excellent as was the service and staff. The lobby of the grand is wow! The restaurants were excellent our favourite being the Steakhouse - which you need to book ahead as it is popular. The pools were beautiful - we spent most of our time at the Olympic pool where there were activities for the kids and near the beach. The other pools were also lovely and the Los tacos one was right across from our room. The Boulangerie was our nightly stop for crepes and chocolate branches 😊 not so good for the waistline. The teen lounge and the kids area at the waterpark were fun and both ages loved the games and activities there. The waterpark was not open yet but we were aware before we came. It will be excellent when it opens as it is very impressive. All in all we had a brilliant holiday and also made use of the Sunrise and Nizuc during our stay. The Grand is very luxurious from the spa to the sun loungers. It was worth the 10 hour flight to visit.
"Beautiful but more organisation"
We stayed at the moon palace grand for 2wks returned 24th June. This is a beautiful hotel with massive rooms, spotlessly clean and with a hot tub! The entertainment around the Olympic pool was brill with daily aerobics and activities. Waitress service was second to none nothing was too much trouble. The al a carte restaurants were fab. My favourites were trattoria at the golf club. The food and service were top class i would have paid for it. Secondly the French, we googled some of the courses and I have to say the steak was beautiful. The waiters even spoke French to us which just showed they were interested in entertaining. Thirdly JC's steakhouse, we had some good meals there and no complaints about the food just the service, but everyone wants to go so it's very busy. We only went to the buffet for breakfast which unfortunately wasn't the best all round. They need to adapt a better approach to dealing with guests on arrival as it's like a football match. Also it's so busy you have to be careful you table isn't taken before you've eaten and the food was often cold. This was my only annoyance about the hotel. We spent some credits on the spa and even though you have to pay tax they are well worth it. Thank you to Anita for a wonderful massage I would highly recommend this hotel especially when it's completed it's definitely a 5*
