"Great base for a trip to BA"
The hotel is in the fab location of Palermo Hollywood, and a short walk to Soho & Viejo - super safe and loads of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. The room we had was huge, and clean. The facilities were slightly out dated and worn out but I don’t think that’s unusual for BA. The girls at the front desk were very helpful which more than made up for it - we were barely in the room anyway! There is also a cheap coin laundrette which is useful.
"A Great Choice / Fantastic front desk staff."
My brother and I spent 4 nights here before going to Patagonia and another 3 nights when we returned to Buenos Aires. Great location in a safe area, only a few blocks from the subway which gets you to all the main areas of the city and close to restaurants and shops. Rooms we stayed in were modern, clean and nicely presented with excellent, comfortable beds. The few small detractions, like loose towel hooks and sparse utensils for self-catering were more than made up for by the three girls on the front desk, Alejandra, Macarena and Beatriz. Really, these girls were so efficient, friendly and helpful that they are a major asset to the hotel. Certainly enhanced our impression of Buenos Aires with their "Hola" and beautiful smiles.Only had breakfast on our last morning. It was good value, again enhanced by helpful staff. I would certainly stay here again.
"Three stays in this hotel"
We have used PT as our base in BA and Argentina and so have returned after each trip out of the city. We had our first six days here. It is so well located for the exploring of the city. The front desk are all amazing and can help organise anything that with language is more difficult. That includes recommendations as well. The girls who share the desk are a brilliant piece of recruitment by the owners and worth their weight in gold. The rooms are outstanding in size and shape, value for money and facilities. It is not all 5star because the deck and pool were not available. On closer inspection some work is required for the decking to be safe and resemble the photos, as does the first floor garden area. But if these were up and running and main attained it would be almost faultless. If you need washing facilities there is a set of top grade washing machine and dryer on site. Breakfast if you just don't want to pop to the local supermarket is every day on the first floor and omelette leads. There is noise on the front of the building and perhaps good double glazing would make the nights sleep acceptable without interruption. Showers on lower floors suffer from the hot water taking longer to drop down from the top of the building but this only means running the tap for a few mins, on the 5th floor no such issue it's boiling. Plus facing the back of the property rooms 3/4 on each floor means no noise to speak of. We keep returning because it really is a good place.
We stayed here three times as Buenos Aires airport seems to be necessary for several connections. The staff was very helpful in every instance. The first time they let us leave a bag for 10 days as we would not need it until we visited friends. The second time our flight was cancelled from Iguazu only to be "replaced" (10 hrs later) so we arrived at 3AM (7/24 staff) and needed to leave again at 8AM. Grateful to have a bed and not sleep in the airport. The rooms are large with comfy king sized beds and have nice amenities like a refrig, electric range top with 2 burners, microwave and limited cookware/plates. Could have a few more items. Rooms were also very clean, good maid service. Only issue was one room had a musty smell so they allowed us to move to another, Really turned out to be a great choice to hotel our in betweens (vs AirBnB) because of the uncertainty of flights. Neighborhood is great and safe area to walk and dine. Would definitely stay here again. Oh yeah washer and dryer on the 7th floor for 35 pesos each. Only dryer we found in Argentina.
"watch the water!"
Overall I was pleased with the hotel; excellent staff, good location, nice to have basic kitchen facilities and a variety of local dining options. Subway stop 2 blocks away. But the flow of hot and cold water seems erratic. You are trying to squeeze a few drops of warmth out of a cool shower when suddenly a blast of hot water forces you to leap clear of the shower where your wet feet land on a slippery floor. Hardly a crisis but a potentially dangerous quirk. Front desk folks helpful on local questions. Bit pricey.
