"Park Hyatt Beijing -"
I was disappointed with the lack of attention to the air-conditioning. The temperature was unbearably hot, the technicians were unable to fix it. I used the spa for a massage, incredibly expensive, and the masseuse was completely inexperienced.
"It may look good on surface. But ... "
I stay in hotels more than I stay at home and I never bothered to write reviews. But this one, it got to the point I decided to go through all the trouble of setting up account and downloaded the APP to write this. I spent 4 to 7 days in Beijing every month and I used to stay in Park Hyatt all the time because i liked the hotel, until it stopped working for me.. last time I stayed here, service just went down hill. turndown service seemed really depending on how the staff feel like that day. Some days you get ice, some days you don't. (especially the day you come back late and was really looking forward to a nightcap in your room, then that's the night you don't get ice) . The worst thing is some days they decided to not close all he blinds for you. Cos when you go back late, it's dark anyway so you don't notice. But when you hope finally to get a full 8 hour sleep , the next morning, you are woken up by the bright light through window at 6am. I told the staff, if you don't close the blind, just don't do it. If you don't want to give me ice, just don't. Just be consistent! Is that too much to ask' Then this trip, I had to stay here cos I was traveling with a group of us. I had very low expectations, so I wasn't that angry when the hairdryer and the rain shower didn't work in my room. What annoyed me was when the housekeeping trying to tell me it was me who didn't know how to operate them, till she finally had to admit it was not me. But I stayed calm. I managed to go through the 6 days pretty calm despite troubles here and there and just when I thought I could leave without any drama , here came the checkout. Three receptionists were operating. For some reason, checkout seems really complicated. Took them a long time with each guest and then someone came cos their key doesn't work. One of the staff left the guest she was servicing and went to fix the key. So that guest got angry and started raising his voice. So the staff helping me went to help him and left me waiting . Even the other angry Guest pointed out he shouldn't left me like that either. I shrugged. I won't let the hotel get me just yet. 15 mins later , I finished my check out. Then was told the concierge couldn't find a box I left with them. I sat in the car waited for another 10mins. Finally, they found it. At the end, it took me 30 mins to leave the hotel. . Luckily I was not rushing to airport. So, I guess he bottom line is, it's a nice looking hotel with great view (and a great gym! ) but the service is really not what you'd expect from a Park Hyatt hotel. Wouldn't recommend for long stays. A shame, really ...
"A very exclusive Park Hyatt with a breath-taking view of Beijing"
If u want privacy & exclusiveness , this Park Hyatt is the place to stay. Both China Grill & China bar on the 65th & 66th floors are extremely popular & they always draw a big crowd including local celebrities. But design of the Hotel is so well-thought-thru that the lift lobby to the rooms are hidden from the main lobby. The rooms are huge, & all the deluxe rooms come with a huge sunken bathtubs , large enough for even three people, & there is a separate toilet. In addition, there are only 25 rooms per floor and Guest rooms only occupy 12 floors of the building, so there is plenty of privacy & exclusiveness. Service here is tip-top as per every Park Hyatt.
As with any Park Hyatt, the Beijing property doesn't disappoint. I've stayed in Park Hyatt hotels in Tokyo, Seoul and of course Beijing many times and there is sense of consistency and excellence that I truly appreciate.

The highest floor with rooms is the 60th floor. The hotel interior is modern as are the rooms, which are spacious. The high ceilings add to the feeling of spaciousness.
