"An eclectic mix of good and bad!"
This extensive hotel is very well located and serviced, largely, by attentive and friendly staff making the experience enjoyable! The building itself is an an odd mix of very shabby, to "hospital" decor, to modern. There are renovations going on - but in what seems to be a pot pourri fashion and getting to my room in the modern part of the hotel was like an episode of the crystal maze - and not to be attempted under the influence. However, once in my room, everything was very good again! Very modern, large, comfortable bed, all mod cons etc (apart from an iron not fit for purpose) - making my two night stay very pleasant. Apart from the shabby spots, the worse part of the hotel was the dining. I only tried bar food late at night - which was awful, and the breakfast (once), which, was accompanied by indifferent service and a multitude of flies! The food itself was bland. This isn't a real problem though as the location of the hotel means you are surrounded by a multitude of good quality places to eat for various budgets! I would consider staying here again - but not if my wife was with me!
"hotel is upgrading"
location is great right near station 5 mins walk from red light zone 2 mins from shops a good place to be.hotel rooms are dated and are being renewed (room website photo's are not the same) the staff i would give 10/10 for service. this hotel is not worth the money (it's like a premier inn before renewal) if it wasn't for the staff i would of checked out. this hotel i would give 3* only no higher (thats due to the staff)
"Nice hotel with the best location possible!"
Overall I had a great experience. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The location cannot be any better! I would definitely stay there next time, but if price will be bit better. I guess I was there during high season for visitors, so price was higher everywhere.
The location of this hotel is just perfect, right in front of the central station. I have to say that I didn't understand immediately where the entrance was because there was an hotel with a similar name next to it. The room was very clean, modern and elegant. the hotel blueprint was a bit weird and felt a bit like being in a maze unraveling inside an old building.. nothing shocking but depending of where your room will be you could get a bit lost at first
"busy hotel full of tour groups and building works going on"
Hotel seems to accommodate large tour groups, plus building works causing restrictions to hotel lobby and lift areas. In busy part of town with coach drop of area outside hotel making it very crowded outside. Not a hotel to stay if you want a more quieter stay in Amsterdam. Staff friendly and doing best to cope with the abi e difficulties
