"Convenient location, excellent breakfast"
I hadn't visited Buenos Aires before, and it is pleasant with an air of slightly faded gentility - buildings need a bit of paint, there's evidence of economic troubles with homeless people sleeping in parks, but the city has a Latin feel, lots of people eating out and socializing even late in the evening, lots of nice restaurants and bars. The Pestana has a similar feel: a very pleasant and comfortable hotel, although not updated in quite the way North American hotels would be. The breakfast buffet has a huge variety and is included. Staff are friendly and helpful. I ate dinner in the hotel once and it was fairly unmemorable - I would recommend eating out in the many restaurants nearby (very short walk). My other advice - if you have allergies to perfume, avoid using the air conditioning. In various hotels in Buenos Aires they use an air freshener or something in the air conditioning, and I could feel it irritating my throat (and a colleague had the same experience). In the spring when I was there I could simply avoid using the air conditioning - but this would be an issue in Dec/Jan when I understand it can be very hot and humid.
"Good Value in Convenient Location"
I stayed at the Pestana for about five weeks this winter. The deluxe room was sparsely furnished, but with a very comfortable bed. The suite with balcony that I eventually moved to was lovely, chic, and worth the extra money with a truly fantastic view. Traffic noise on the 9 de Julio side was astonishingly well insulated considering the magnitude of the traffic. Blackout curtains. Not much noise from room to room, although the occasional very loud neighbor was audible. Impeccable housekeeping. Friendly staff, who assisted with booking cars, booking a tango show with a good discount, advice on day trips, the occasional photocopy. Breakfast had great variety and was generously served. No room service, which is surprising for this class of hotel. Pool, sauna and jacuzzi are lovely, but could perhaps be cleaner (especially the jacuzzi). All in all, a very pleasant and practical stay.
"Nice hotel in central location"
I stayed in this hotel during a business trip for over one week. The facility is somehow old (I stayed in a room on the 12th and last floor), but the service and location are quite good. Breakfast lacks variety but has some good stuff. Limited options for lunch/dinner but always good quality. No mini bar or in-room service. Their sandwiches are excellent, but you need to pick them up yourself. Staff is very helpful. Internet connection with wi-fi is free and works well.
"Good location & clean rooms"
Hotel is centrally located with good access to the city. Has a small lobby bar and usual breakfast buffet. Breakfast was included in the rate. It was pretty good though I've seen better. Hotel personnel was friendly and ready to help. Room was clean and comfortable. I was upgraded to a suite which had two bathrooms and a balcony. Would highly recommend to a family though not with really young kids as I'm not sure if the sliding glass door to the balcony actually locked. Would definitely stay again.
"Hotel with privileged location in Buenos Aires"
Hotel very well located in Buenos Aires, with a very well decorated, spacious and organized lobby. Elevators working properly and the room is quite spacious, clean and well organized. Everything working perfectly. Air conditioning a little noisy and the bathroom leaves the hotel age, with small leaks and minor repairs on the door. Breakfast good, with plenty of options and very quiet.
