The boutique hotel Petit Palace Ópera Garden is located in front of the Liceo theatre, in the heart of the gothic district, close to the cathedral, the Boquería market and the Port Olímpic.
Great location just off La Rambla, and only a minute from the nearest metro. Short walk to Bareceloneta and the port area, and only a half hour walk to Sagardra Familia. Really friendly staff and nice courtyard for a drink. Buffet breakfast was first class - no restaurant but plenty of choice within a short walk
"Air conditioner issues."
This property is in a great location. The room was clean, they offer a nice breakfast and great patio and bar area. The problem was the air conditioner did not work properly which is a problem for a June visit and the staff refused to visit the room to determine the issue.
Very nice and modern hotel in the best location: the hotel is in a side street to the Las Ramblas, not even 1 min walk from the metro station Liceu. You are directly in the district of Bari Gotic, with very narrow streets and cute little shops where you could shop for hours. To the beach you walk around 15-20 min. The hotel is very nice, we had an apartment with 1 double bed and 2 bunk beds and also 2 bathrooms. The rooms were very nice and clean, the bathrooms very modern! We didn't book any breakfast, as it's rather expensive and there are so many cafés in the vicinity where you can get good (if smaller) breakfast.
"Petit Palace - Las Ramblas!"
Beautiful hotel with a great location! One block from Las Ramblas. Hotel has restaurant for buffet breakfast but not for lunch or dinner. There is a bar on premises but we never had any luck getting any drinks other than beer or wine. Close to shopping & variety of restaurants - all within walking distance. Cabs can not drop off in front of hotel but hotel is close enough to where taxi can provide drop off
"5 star location and room 3 star amenities."
Pros: Location, location, location! Right on La Rambla. If you ask for a garden room like we did, it is set back from the busy road and is very quiet. We stayed here for 7 nights and the location alone made it worth it. The room itself was spacious compared to most european hotels and a suite style with one queen and 2 twin beds for our family of 4. One bed was in a separate area with its own tv etc. My teenager loved that. Housekeeping was efficient and unintrusive. Our beds were impeccably made every day while we were out and the room itself was clean and bright. Free wifi and a lovely garden for a drink or breakfast. Cons: Office staff (especially the gentleman who is a bald, bearded guy with glasses) was very unhelpful with suggestions and questions. Not rude but completely uninterested. Asked for a taxi to the airport the last day. He did that after reminding him a second time and did not even say a simple, polite goodbye or thank you after staying at their hotel for a week. Rest of the staff was okay. We had an issue with noisy upstairs neighbors for a couple of night. Had to complain to the staff a few times before it was taken care of. No coffee in the room. There are no instructions on how to use the phone etc posted anywhere in the room. The soaps/shampoo/toilet paper etc are very poor quality. Overall, I would highly recommend this location but not this hotel. I'm sure you can find much better hotels than this one in the same area.
