This hotel experience was simply bad, I would even good that far to mention that this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Here some of the reasons for this rating: - The check-in took about 40min and still it was not done correctly. The IHG number was not entered, even though I particular asked this question. The assigned room was in very poor condition (e.g. cracked windows, dirt, mold) and the bath tube was completely broken which was actually a danger for the kids that travelled with us. This room should have never been given to customers. - It took 7h!!! to get the baby bed to the room, even though this was requested at booking already!! A check-in, I asked for the bed...nothing happened,...and I called the operator various times who always said he will investigate, but nothing happened. Only upon getting a bit unfriendly something moved. Poor service. - The telephone operator was generally very bad. Either they didn't understand the request or could simply not talk English well enough to work as operator. - The hotel did not at all pay attention that an IHG member check-in (which is not so bad), but we actually celebrated a birthday during the stay (which was marked in the booking). There was nothing arranged from the hotel, which never happened to us before. My wife ordered a birthday surprise for breakfast and she had to light up the candle after a arranging a lighter !!! Also, in the evening she ordered a birthday desert in the Italian restaurant and there was no indiciation it was a birthday surprise. Very poor performance!! - Coming back to the room, only upon getting in touch with our agent the hotel upgraded us to a suite (which was nice) the room they offered before was as well in bad condition. However, this suite was in such a bad condition, I have never seen something like this before. The curtains were torn apart, the walls had water damage, the carpet was dirty and never got cleaned, the lightning in the bathroom broken, some other light fell off, rubbish not removed, the light on the balcony could not be turned off (even maintenance had no clue and just took off one light bulb, the other one is continuously on!!), so disgustingly dirty under the bed and so on. - The pools are generally nice, but the cushions on the sun chairs are often full of bird droppings, the stones uneven, the seating area of the pool bar is bad condition and actually a danger, there was rubbish lying around and the staff didn't even bother to remove empty coconut/drinks/plates frequently. Hence, there were tons of ants. Occasionally the pool was more like a pool of leafs since no one cleaned it. Simply poor facility management!! - One of our kids good sick from the food which was not well cooked and we only noticed it too late. The poor paid got salmonella from the chicken satay!!!- - The staff in the bistro was simply super unpleasant and made such a bad atmosphere (never smiled). She always gave the impression to suffer a lot and that she does not enjoy her work at all. - During our stay the hotel run out of green tea at breakfast, all open wines, ice cream, crabs and open champagne (on new years eve!!). Very poor management!!! - Generally you had the impression that the shuttle bus driver and also other people like the spa persons are really aggressively trying to sell products. Not pleasant attitude. - At check-in no one told us that we were entitled for 20% on food and drinks!! We only got to know this by chance in a restaurant. However, then we had paid already bills in cash and couldn't get back the money. - The check-out took 1.5h!!!!!!! This was the worst of all experiences. The staff was completely hopeless and helpless in trying to figure out how to include the 20% discount retrospectively. Just bad, really bad!!! - Of course the IHG number was never entered into the system and now I'm still trying to get the points that I'm entitled to. I could go on for a long time, but I have covered the key points. Overall the hotel is in bad condition and obviously very poorly managed. I would never recommend this place to anyone, not even my closest enemy. PS: I intended to post this review on the IHG page, but it was blocked several times due to non-sense reasons. It seems that IHG was not interested in feedback showing the true picture.
"Very good holiday"
Despite some issues we had at arrival, analysing the hole vacation the experience we had was a very good one. Positive points - very nice people, very honest, for example at one point - in case of issue they respond quickly and effective. - rooms are clean and they are checking the rooms at least twice per day - nice gym Negative points: - this part of the island is hardly affected by the tide and due to that the water is missing from the see in front of the hotel; you can consider this issue is corrected with the couple of pools hotel have at their disposal. - location of the hotel is not in a crowded place, to arrive at night life areas you need to take a taxi and will cost between 6-800bahts 20 - 27USD, but if you come with kids is quite nice as there is quite calm zone - I had other issues related to internet, or TV, but that were solved quite fast.
Our family created some warm memories at this Hotel. My 21 year old rented a paddle board and in a little more than an hour went to a shore of the nearest island. We swam in the pool for exercise and to relax. I really liked the Activities Director, Nu. He helped me, a 60 year old with poor language skills, to say "hello" (sah-wah-dee cup) with a smile and "thank you" (kob khun krab). Each day he tried his best to make it fun to learn. The morning buffet was perfect for our picky family. For dinner, the local restaurant next door, House Fins was easy and delicious. None of the staff knew that there is a ferry just a quarter mile away that all should use for Phi Phi island. And the realty check: the tides goes out in this usually shallow bay that makes snorkeling impossible at any time and the ocean beauty disappears for those hours. And no one likes 10% service charge for the staff and 7% VAT but it is there.
Just left yesterday. a bit sad but I must say I felt full quality travelling time. The room furniture a bit old but understand for hotel running 5 years, completely understand as most of the hotel was. Breakfast is amazing all the guys in the restaurant also the chef they work really hard to get the things go right way. The staff member everywhere always make sure that we got the good attention. Keep hard working guys. And see you next year for sure.
"LUXUIROUS RESORT REALLY NICE ONE"
Crowne plaza phuket panwa is on one side of phuket. but thats an advantage that is far from maddening rush. you get little difficulty finding taxis but that is ignorable. Be it the room quality, human resource,or upkeep of resort every thing was fantastic, we were here for 3 night. the sea view room is good in size and has awesome views. pools good. food is of good quality. The only constraint we as indian was there was not a single indian dish in the menu. Crowne please consider adding few.
