"Dated Property, Dark Exterior Corridors."
The property shows its age: looks dated. Travel within the property is contingent upon calling for a golf cart shuttle and waiting. The corridors leading to the rooms are dark and poorly lit. The Staff is excellent, professional and very helpful.
Drove down from Colorado, parked the truck on Saturday & did not have to get back in the truck until we left on Tuesday. The resort had everything we needed and more. We hiked, biked, played golf, lounged in the many pools/tubs and had great meals everywhere on the resort. Bringing the whole family back in February!
Easy to get to from the airport. About a 30 min drive. Check in with smooth with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Spread out property, but easy enough to get around. Drove to room and took elevator up. We had two room suite, very similar to an Embassy Suites setup. Bed was comfortable. Storage was good. Nice little balcony. Sent to the main pool once. Very pretty but was too cold, I dont think it was heated and temps were in high 70s. Used the hot tub by the Presidential pool one night. It was perfect. Had dinner and drinks our first night at the casual restaurant and bar. Food and drinks were good, but a little pricey (nothing out of the norm for hotels though). 2nd night we had a reception at the fancy restaurant. Had to take shuttle to get to it. View was beautiful and food was great once again. We would live to go back .
"Uncomfortable at Tapatio"
My stay was uncomfortably influenced by a Drs convention and 2 weddings. Pools were closed and the scenic restaurant was closed on a Saturday night. My room was not where I have under my request (only avail was ground floor). The management at check in basically sent me on my way without compensation. I called Hilton directly because I was dissatisfied with the front desk management. Room itself was nice (but didn’t like the ground floor), shuttle drivers were super nice and the housekeeping and bartenders were too. Manager Mitch Laferriere was the only manager that actually looked me in the eye and showed some empathy for the problems during our stay. He gave us some comps too, but was respectful and courteous. I would pass on Tapatio and stay at Squaw Peak.
Had a great experience at the Pintes. Brian at the front desk was particularly helpful in getting me the perfect room- quiet with an amazing view. He was so patient and made sure I was happy. I also loved the terrace room at Different pointes of view and the Point in tyme restaurant as well. Great running trail across the way at PHoenix mountain preserve and a well-stocked gift shop with gifts you would actually want to take home! This was a lovely stay. Thanks again!
