"Room with balcony (seaview)"
If you have big / many luggage, better ask the porter to assists. The compound is big, many steps, many rooms...you maybe confuse if you are not familiar with the hotel layout. Most of the room is with balcony, you can get to catch sun rise / sunset from your room. If not you may go to the swimming pool area to rest and relax. In the room there is no kettle there fore no cups for making own coffee / tea, small "dinosaur" TV with only few channels to choose (best of the best is CNN)...hahah The bathroom is small, the shower curtain is half hanging, so when you bath you will sure wet the whole bathroom (my floor towel is all wet). The bed is not comfortable. My room is comes with breakfast: very simple breakfast - 2 kinds of bread, cookies, cereal, yogurt, cheese, ham, eggs, coffee / tea
We just spent our 10th stay at Porto Mykonos. We love the room, we love the view, and we love the staff. They are like family to us. Rula, Mhna, Poppy, Anonimous, Stavros, the night manager, and all of the young men and one young lady in the dining room always go above and beyond to provide excellent service. They go out of their way to satisfy any request. The views are amazing, the breakfast is more than adequate, and the grounds are lovely. It is an easy walk into town and the new port. We are already planning next year's trip and will certainly stay at Porto Mykonos again.
"Disappointing honeymoon experience - we wouldn't stay again"
We stayed 3 nights in a Superior Room at Porto Mykonos in April 2017 as part of our honeymoon. The service when checking in was good and we received an upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious and the balcony had a great view of the sunset (although looking at a giant carpark at the Port was somewhat unromantic, the location of the hotel was known to us so it is unfair to complain about that). Unfortunately, everything else about our stay at Porto Mykonos was disappointing. The bathroom is well overdue for an update. There was significant mould above the shower and the shower flooded every single time – to the point where the bathmat was saturated after each shower – making it very uncomfortable for whoever showered second. The towels were very old and threadbare. The breakfast was well below average – artificial orange juice, no toaster provided and the cooked food was unappetising. We asked for recommendations for tours and the front desk was unable to provide us with any and in fact, were only able to give us an out of date and incorrect bus timetable. We were woken early each morning by a loud, high pitched screeching noise – we are unsure whether it was the pipes or people dragging chairs across tiles. Honestly, for the price we paid we could have stayed somewhere far superior to this hotel in the middle of Mykonos Town. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone – especially a couple travelling on their honeymoon.
"Good Value "
I spent a four night weekend break here in early season. The hotel is located above the old port and accessed via a moderately steep hill which does not present any issues unless mobility is truly restricted. The view is excellent over the bay and out to sea. Staff are friendly, welcoming and happy to serve in my experience. Accommodations are typical of hotels of similar age and price range on the island. Functional, comfortable with mini bar, TV, hairdryer and a wet room. For those travellers expecting homogenised perfection I would guess that they may be disappointed. This is an island which oozes charm and authenticity - big brand hotels would ruin the place. Expect quirky and more authentic than you may have experienced elsewhere in Europe. There are defiantly more expensive hotels on the island and equally many less costly. If you want a central location which is welcoming, comfortable and good value for money then the Porto Mykonos is well worth a visit. I'd certainly consider it for my next short break on the island.
We were booked by a package holiday and given a sea view. Lady said wed been upgraded. View was nice if you look past the massive car park. Noise from some of the motorbikes screaming around below us was unpleasant. If you have real mobility issues hotel is not for you but then neither is Mykonos. Unusual to have a room with only a stool no chair. Great to finally have a shower and not have to climb into a bath. Breakfast is just adequate certainly not what we have seen offered elsewhere. No tea or coffee in rooms. Rooms very clean.
