"Wonderful hotel, annoying room account process "
Stayed here for two nights and return in a week, Hotel is very nice, staff attentive, restaurant options great (Executive Chef Martin very helpful with dietary restrictions) and Amazing Hotel gym and wellness centre. The only negative is, at check in the Hotel asks for a deposit for charges to your room (normal practice for a hotel) but this is basically a debit account, where once you spend your deposit you can’t charge anything else to your room (we paid cash for some room service dinner) even with a credit card as initial payment and method of payment of the deposit. It’s not a Russian Hotel practice nor a Radisson Russia process as we stayed at another Radisson in Russia prior to the Royal. It’s just strange for a 5 Star international Hotel that is so attentive to its customers in most aspects to have such an annoying process.
Discovering Moscow from Radisson Royal Hotel is an incredible experience : located in one of the 7 sisters, symbolic Stalinian buildings and architecture, makes you live back to the roots of this terrible but special communist and Stalinist period. The hotel offers an aesthetic experience with the Stalinian architecture and internal luxury, marbled decoration. You can also discover a "mini Moscow" reproduction from 1970's which was acquired by the hotel and allows to discover the historic Kremlin and Moscow city in the 70's. Take the time to visit the Mercedes bar at the 30th floor with breathtaking view on Moscow...
We went to a family trip to Russia and stayed in Radisson Royal Hotel in Moscow. It was amazing in all the way. First of all this Hotel is really Royal. Interiors and exteriors are stunning. Rooms are very comfortable. Hotel has royal pool with Jacuzzi and saunas and gym which are very clean and inspiring to work out. Also it has amazing observation deck on the roof with amazing view We took breakfasts at the hotel and they were delicious. Staffs are very professional, friendly and helpful. We could plan our trips with their help faster. Also location is amazing, very close to the center, nice restaurants and shopping malls. This hotel added positive impression to our whole trip a lot.
"a top hotel, some small flaws"
I stayed here for about 10 nights in November - all in all, great experience. The location and views from the rooms are stunning, the rooms themselves very clean and flawless. One thing I can also confirm, even though it was very cold and snowing outside, I think the rooms are heated up to 25° and no way to turn it down. The air is very dry as well! There are 2 windows, and inside and outside one - while the inside one can be opened, the outside one can only be opened on the top - I ended up having them open as far as I could all the time. Bathroom is perfect, nice and new shower, all fine. I also had the experience like described in some other reviews, minibar locked - and even I was asked my credit card on checkin, I was not good to put anything on my room in the lobby bar and the waiter even ran after us like thiefs after we put something to the room. I then needed to leave a 10'000 rubel deposit and after that was fine. Security is also a high topic here, guards everyhwere and access to rooms by card only (in elevator and floor access doors. There is a steak house attached to the hotel, but it's not part of the hotel, nothing can be charged to the room there either. The breakfast is great, many options and of super quality! There are few restaurants in front of the hotel, all can be recommended. Also behind the hotel there are many options, about 10-15 minutes walking distance along the river and then left there is a whole area with great places (reservation recommended) All in all, I enjoyed the comfort of this hotel very much.
I apologise for this late review. I had meant to do this when I returned to England. I stayed at the hotel on my last night in Moscow.(September 2016) I had been working in Moscow for about 2.5 years and wanted a treat on my last night. Many thanks for the Manager who made sure that I had a lovely room. The service in the room and around the hotel was wonderful. It was a great place to spend my last night in Russia. The staff on the front desk were wonderful on the morning that I left. I had a bit of a panic with ordering my taxi and they were able to sort this out for me. The two young men who took my remaining bags from my room were excellent (I had gathered a lot of stuff living in Moscow!) If you want a special treat then this hotel is the perfect place. The date below isn't accurate as it doesn't go back to September 2016.
