The Riva is steps from where the ferry from Splits docks and that was the best thing about this hotel, although my wife gives the breakfast high marks. The rooms were awkwardly designed and small—2adults with luggage required some gymnastics to move around. The beds were extremely firm and the pillows were flat which didn’t make for a comfortable sleep. Service was OK but lacked the friendliness we found everywhere else in Croatia.
"Very obliging staff. "
This slightly different hotel had very kind obliging staff. The rooms are small but the beds comfortable. We had a water facing room with a lovely balcony. It is a large hotel so not particularly personal but very adequate. Nice breakfasts.
"Great location but small rooms !!"
The location is great! It’s there as soon as you step off the ferry! Equally, everything else is in walking distance! The hotel is well done, neat & clean but the rooms are small. There isn’t much room to move around and no place to keep the luggage. The view to the promenade and sea is great. We also had a small terrace which was very nice to enjoy the complimentary wines and the sunset! Staff is overall nice but not very helpful. No early check-in available and they give you the rooms at sharp 3 pm even if the rooms are ready! Our luggage was already in the room but we only got the keys at 3 pm !
"Great location. Small rooms. Quirky bathroom."
This property is located right on the waterfront, in front of a busy docking pier for ferries and small cruise ships. This is a big advantage if moving around by boat. The outside terrace is very nice for breakfast or cocktails. Average food. The guest rooms are tiny and dark. The bathrooms are see-through which is fine for a couple but embarrassing otherwise. The toilet room is within a semi-see through enclosure and is just TMI. Difficult to shower without flooding. It's striving for high design and coolness, but it fails on many levels.
"A Modern Disappointment"
The poor outweighs the positive at this location. Firstly the location is great! It’s there as soon as you step of the boat/catamaran. Secondly it’s clean with a comfortable outdoors. That is what the hotel has. This is what it doesn’t have; Doors! No doors on bathrooms or showers...slightly odd and apparently a design from Dubai''' Light. It lacks light and is dark. Taste. If you choose to label a hotel a yacht club wouldn’t you think the best theme to go with is that. You could do washed clapperboard and specialize in seafood. Generic maybe but fitting. Instead the Riva Yacht Habour Hotel has pictures of dead celebrities and looks like someone ran around IKEA in a sale. It’s ridiculously overpriced and don’t be fooled all at this hotel is not what it seems. On the surface it looks fairly stylish but is unpractical and beyond the doors feels very out of place in classy Hvar.
