"Good location. Rooms are disappointing."
Location for this hotel is great. The parking is off site and they bring your bags to and from the hotel via golf cart. I would contact them prior to arrival if you require car parking, so you are aware of the process. The rooms are VERY dark. We had a difficult time with the lighting in the room. The rooms are small, so with two large suitcases we had no where to put our stuff. There was one small closet. The bathroom is open to the room so make sure you are aware of that before sharing the room with a friend. We had trouble with our shower head, which they fixed right away. The water was not hot enough for us. We also had trouble with our key cards several times and couldn’t get in our room, had to wait for a master key. The breakfast buffet is great. They offer a nice selection and you can dine outside overlooking the harbor. I would try another hotel if I returned to Hvar.
"Gin and tonic disaster "
We had a gin and tonic in the lovely terrace and turn out being the worse gin and tonic I had ever in my life . It was not only a robbery , 57 Kuna ( £18.45 / €20.98 ) , but a complete disaster of waitress . The matching garnish ( as they call it ) for our G&Ts were horrible matching and poor .....the whole thing was a disaster . If you are in Hvar and want a G&T definitely go elsewhere .....at Riva they need a lot to learn about it .
"AVOID AT ALL COSTS"
The layout of these rooms is woeful, the club downstairs goes until 2am (even when the website says it closes at 11pm), but the one thing that really stood out was the customer service. Although the staff at the hotel are friendly, the Suncari management group which run a group of hotels in Hvar are an absolute disgrace. Quite possibly the worst customer service I've seen in my 10 years of travelling. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere if you want to enjoy the island
Pros: + Central location + Staff in breakfast area + Directly next to ferry Cons: - Price - Room size (Superior Double Room with Sea View) - Room design (Bathroom weird glass toilet door which rendering basin area countertop usless) - Mini bar fridge did not work - Staff in reception - Staff in bar area - VIP area for hotel guests only, open to all - Party boats dock outside hotel almost every night Notes: Fridge didn't work therefore we could not enjoy our complimentary Villa Sandi. We mentioned this in reception and were told that the fridge should operate at 20degs. Well i'm no rock scientist, but I'm sure fridges are meant to keep things cooled at minimum 7degC. Didn't seem worth arguing with them about. If you look in advance there certainly without a doubt be better options than this hotel. Also be aware July & August are the party mouths in Hvar.
"Disappointing - Mold and poor service"
The hotel is in a great location - on the harbor just minutes from the town center. That's the good part, we recommend avoiding this hotel for reasons noted by other travelers. First, the rooms are tiny and poorly laid out. The bathroom design causes water to leak from the shower and pool in the (unclean) carpet leading to an overwhelming smell of mold. Second, the common areas are used for luggage storage of the many guests that are coming and going daily. There's nowhere to sit comfortably and read a book, which is an issue given how claustrophobic the rooms will make you feel. Finally, the staff are overwhelmed or poorly trained, I couldn't decide which. Generally, they were unresponsive, not helpful and didn't care. We were booked here for two nights by a Croatian travel concierge as part of an eight day trip in September. We have recommended against them using this hotel going forward. If you can't find somewhere better, do a day trip to Hear instead.
