Rising in the historic centre of Mexico City, Room Valentina is located in the very heart of the "Zona Rosa", populated by a lot of boutiques, clubs, shops, the "Monumento a la Revolución" and the Museum "Ripley". The airport Benito Juarez is well connected to the hotel by different means of transport.
Very nice hotel experience!!Comment of K. SHIHWEI , Taiwan the 2016-11-07
If you want to hotel that is centrally located to all of the things that the Zona Rosa district has to offer, including great, inexpensive restaurants, and the gay nightlife, I would suggest this hotel. It is affordable and comfortable, and right in the heart of it all.Comment of S. John , United States the 2016-01-16
"Hotel was ok, area not so much"
I didn't like the are where the hotel was located. Not so clean, full of bars and noisy places. Hotel was ok, room average size, clean, simple, kind of a minimalist modern decoration. There is no parking available at the hotel, not even valet parking. I had to go to a parking lot 2 blocks away and then walked my way back, with my luggage, on this not so clean not so safe looking sketchy area.
"Great choice...if you're looking to party"
Let me preface this by stating that I am a huge fan of the Room Mate Hotel chain. Naturally, I opted to book with them when I learned they had a location in Mexico City. The hotel is in a great central location in the Zona Rosa area (very close to Reforma). Throughout our stay we were able to grab an Uber or taxi with ease. Not to be exclusionary but I would definitely say this hotel is geared to the LGBTQ population. Its location is smack dab in the middle one of Mexico City’s gay enclaves. After sunset, the streets are packed with club-goers. So, if that’s not your thing, I’d recommend staying elsewhere. Now, for the hotel itself…check in went smoothly and efficiently. I’m a native English speaker with 2 years of high school Spanish under my belt so my command of the language is conversational at best. The hotel staff speaks enough English to remain helpful. We were given an Executive room which was nicely appointed. Nothing fancy but the pictures online are accurate. Due to a last minute addition to our group, I asked to upgrade to the Penthouse suite (which was unavailable each time I asked). As an aside, I was given the option to move into a Junior suite which was also nicely appointed but still too small for our group of 3. Due to the hotel being booked, our 3rd guest had to sleep on the couch. The hotel staff brought extra blankets upon request and we made it work. They also charged $30 per night for the extra person. The hotel offers a decent breakfast off of the lobby daily until noon. There is a note in the elevator advising guests of this so I assumed it was included in our rate. On day 2, I was corrected. I wouldn’t necessarily ding the hotel for this as I didn’t pay attention to what my rate included during booking. A few negatives with regard to my stay: The elevator is pretty slow. There’s only one and with 12 floors, you can face a bit of a wait depending on time of day. Saturday morning, I was awakened by what could have only been the Earth caving in beneath us. Turns out there was some sort of construction going on. I called the front desk to ask what was going on and he informed me that it was only minor construction and it would be finished in 20 minutes. Well, he was right…give or take 4 hours! There was concrete drilling throughout the rest of the day. Not a huge problem but noteworthy nonetheless. Sound transmission is something to be aware of at this hotel. I didn’t hear anything from the adjacent rooms but I could clearly hear anything going on in the hallway. One night I heard my neighbor’s entire life story while she waited for the elevator. Also, you can hear the club music from Amberes if your windows are open. Again, not a big deal but something to be aware of. To sum it all up, this is the perfect hotel if you are visiting Mexico City to let your hair down and party in Zona Rosa. Oh, and the wifi worked great!
"Excellent hotel in a great location!"
This was probably one of the best hotels we've stayed at while traveling. The hotel was spotless, the people so kind, the decor trendy (if a bit overdone), and the room was very comfortable. I even got sick for a day while staying here, and I really didn't mind having to hang out in the room. It was very cozy. It's nothing special, no particularly wonderful amenities, and the area around the hotel is more for clubbing, which isn't our style, but it's in a great location for getting elsewhere in the city, and there are very good restaurants around the area if you don't want to go too far to eat. It's a very well-maintained, very well-operated standard hotel. Two tips: 1. We took the advice of some of these reviews and requested a higher floor for an additional $200 pesos or so, and it was definitely worth it. Some reviews complain about noise from the local bars, but our floor (8) was very quiet by our standards. 2. We didn't bother with the breakfast, because for less money, you can go to the cafe down the block or some really great breakfast places around the city. We thought it was a better experience to get to try more restaurants. I spent a LONG time looking through TripAdvisor reviews for hotels in Polanco, La Condesa and La Zona Rosa before deciding on this one, and I highly, highly recommend it.
"Very centric and key located"
This hotel has very good service and location is great! You are surrounded by all kind of places to eat, drink or get partying. You are a block away from one of the main avenues and one of the most beautiful ones and infront of the Ángel de la independencia Statue, iconic place of Mexico City. Besides, the body lotions and shampoo comes in a very original package and more ecologiclal than the regular found in hotels.
"Great for the price"
This hotel is located in a predominantly gay area. There are lots of bars and clubs on the street with very loud music. The hotel has sound proof windows, which work fine. There is no room service late at night. The attendants are nice but do not move an inch out of their way to help you with their luggage or anything else. The room and bathroom are very spacious. Alternatively decorated, very colorful. Closet inside the bathroom and shower tile on wall is same as floor, so slippery. Clean and bed was well-made. No conditioner provided (terrible for women and that's basic). For the price, I don't think you can get any better.
