"Great Hotel and Location"
In spite of Bourbon street being torn up for necessary repairs, we had a fantastic stay. Rooms were clean, very well appointed and the staff was very gracious and helpful. The location right on Bourbon Street makes things very convenient but you can't be that close to Bourbon Street without expecting to hear some noise at night. But Hey, it's New Orleans. That's one of the reasons we go there, right'
"Jazz it up!"
The Royal Sonesta has a great location. It is located in the middle of Bourbon Street surrounded by many shops & restaurants. It is a luxury hotel with a wonderful staff. The RS has nice restaurants & a jazz club if you just want to sit & relax & hear some great jazz music.
"Great hotel, loved my stay."
I really enjoyed my stay here. First I strayed in a room facing Bourbon street and yes they are noisy, but what an experience and view! Luckily, the hotel were able to move me to a quieter room for the remainder of my stay. The coffee machine and fridge in the room were great additions. I swam in the heated outdoor pool late at night which was a delight - so peaceful and beautifully lit. I tired the onsite cafe for an easy breakfast in the morning which was good. I also popped in Desire for alligator and grilled oysters - such a treat. The concierge was helpful in suggesting a spare hour I had with a streetcar trip to the Garden District. The doormen were really helpful when storing my luggage and conveniently bagged up my loose items. Highly recommended.
"Kind of noisy"
The location is right on Bourbon Street, that’s a plus. Unfortunately, they had the street totally dug up. Our first room they put us over their laundry facility, so around 6:30 a.m. we started to here the laundry carts rolling around. They moved us to another floor, it was better but we ended up across from the cleaning room. I feel for the price the rooms were average. The staff was very friendly and the lobby area very nice, the pool area was a great place hang out.
