I was there for a company event and I was very surprise with the way the hotel is manage and how helpful the employees are.Usually a Hotel that big and handling so many people have the tendency to be business oriented, cold and proper. The employees there are friendly, I was impressed
"My personal favorite"
I tend to stay here every time I am in town for business. The front desk even remembers my name now when I check in because I stay here so often. Jennifer at the front desk is amazing and always welcoming to our company. I would recommend staying at River Center if ever you are in San Antonio. It is a short walk to the River Walk with Dinning located in the hotel or the surrounding area.
Excellent experience all around. Front desk staff was friendly and courteous as always. Had a minor problem with one server in the bar ... but once the management heard about it, they went above and beyond to rectify the situation. I left extremely pleased. The restaurant in the hotel is amazing ... especially the staff. Would like to recognize Daniel & Jennifer for making our dining experience such a great one. Daniel even went above and beyond exceptional customer service ... he remembered us from our last visit which was nearly 2 months prior! The staff's attention to detail and their personality made this a great trip. Thanks Marriott!
"Restaurant was REALLY good!"
I don’t believe I have ever left a review for a hotel restaurant before. And when I was invited to a business breakfast at the hotel restaurant, I did everything I could to move it offsite. No luck - so we ate at the Marriott restaurant on the 2nd floor. I did manage to pass on the buffet, and when I asked our server — Daniel Lamb — to recommendation something, he enthusiastically pointed me towards the huevos rancheros. Which were way above average! Props to the chef for the unusual twist on the dish. And especially props to Daniel for handling our dietary requests and our drink preferences with grace. He checked in on us and was attentive beyond what I certainly expect in a hotel restaurant — and even a fancy restaurant! Well done!
I stayed here for a week for a couple different work-related conferences. The location and amenities were bountiful. Customer service was excellent. Facilities were in working order, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The hotel is located right along the Riverwalk and directly connects to the mall, making it extremely easy to enjoy all the tourist amenities. There are multiple restaurants and shopping options. My favorite is that there is a Ghiradelli AND Marble Slab Creamery right outside the hotel! (I love desserts.) There is a plethora of tour options/companies nearby, and the Alamo is located 2 minutes away! It's also very close to the convention center and several other big hotels. Everything about the hotel's location is ideal. The most obvious negative feature is the interior design of this hotel. The lobby was beautiful and classy but my room is a bit more dated, not very modern. My room in particular had popcorn ceiling, but aside from that, everything was in proper working order. Everything was very clean and seemed to be well-kept. I am a stickler for clean, and this place definitely got my stamp of approval. I used few of the public bathrooms, and they were clean as well. We attended a conference there, and I was able to see the meeting rooms. They are pretty standard and also well-maintained. As for the customer service, every interaction I had with each employee was excellent. Everyone was very generous with offering help. Every employee was knowledgeable, kind, professional. The housekeepers were awesome as well. They always said hi, and more importantly, they did a great job keeping our room clean.
