Just returned today (November 17th) from an incredible 7 day stay at the Resort. As always Sandals has service down pat - after a small issue with my room it was quickly resolved. Full resort - never waited for a table, got in to every restaurant I wanted. Stayed in a club level room in the Balmoral tower - unbelievable view. Nice difference between the two pools - a pretty pool and then a relaxing calm one. Loved that. Candlelight dinner was superb - a wonderful meal as was the SSG dinner. Tip - grab one of the fire pit chaise lunges to hang out during the day - they are always available and close to everything. Simply a brilliant place to relax - love the cleanliness of the Nassau airport, speed you get through immigration and quick 20 minute commute to the resort. Took a 20$ cab into Bay Street Nassau - loved it. Honestly not one negative thing I could say about the week, staff and experience. The one thing that long term might be addressed - the penthouse gym is very crowded. Maybe a second gym somewhere' Keep up the good work.
"Worst Sandals by far"
My husband and I have been to several Sandals and this was far the worst as far as service. If you don't want to eat or drink, this place is for you. We were there for one week and witnessed three different occasions where guests ordered and simply never got their food. Three occasions at three different restaurants. One occasion was us! Two mornings the breakfast buffet ran out of plates. The first day it was a 10 minute plus wait for plates to be brought out. Also ran out of plates at the antipasti bar & took over 10 minutes for a new bowl of salad to be brought out. The wait at the bar in order to get a drink was usually 10 plus minutes also. The employees wouldn't even acknowledge us. It was like they were looking through us. We talked to several people during the week and everyone's opinion was the same.....horrible horrible service! For many this was their first Sandals experience and will be their last. Butch needs to get control of this resort because it's damaging his brand.
"All Around Enjoyable Getaway "
My husband and I were looking for a short getaway and living in Western Long Island makes Nassau a quick trip. Since it was going to be a short vacation we decided an all inclusive would make sense. It would allow for the most relaxation time without the need to run around for meals and entertainment. The extra benefit of an adult only resort is the absence of kids. The resort itself is not in its prime. It is nice enough but a sprucing up of rooms will be in need in short time. The common areas are all in good condition and an effort is made to keep the property up to par. The beach is a short one, but the sand and water are very inviting. It is not as nice as in Exuma, but it is still the Caribbean and awesome. Overall, the staff were among the nicest we have encountered on our many Sandals and other all inclusive resort vacations. They were friendly and aimed to please. Please remember however to keep your expectations in check. Large resorts do the best possible, but will never be the Ritz or Four Seasons. Butler service has its privileges but do not expect the world. A few added touches here and there will exist, but this is not a personal valet Having beach chairs reserved is a welcome benefit for sure as is having a few additional requests met at times. We had a beachfront one bedroom suite. It is a nice room, but getting a little tired. The patio had exceptional views and both the room and terrace were very spacious. The suite could use a second bathroom or at least a half bath. The airport transfers included with this room type were delivered by Rolls Royce or Mercedes. Although the trip to and from the airport is very short, one feels like Saudi royalty in these fancy cars. If you have been to other Sandals resorts, you already know the food and alcohol offerings are fine, but not great. Again, keep your expectations in check and all will be enjoyed. Just a tip...do not drink the included champagne. This will only lead to serious disappointment. Drink anything else! The spa was very nice as is always the case at Sandals Red Lane Spas. My husband enjoyed his massage. Regrettably, he booked a tennis lesson and the pro did not show up. He turned lemons into lemonade however, and played doubles with other guests waiting for their non existent lessons. The guests we met were some of the nicest we have ever met on vacation. Everyday we met friendly couples wanting to socialize. We enjoyed meeting people from many different places. I will add that we most often travel during peak seasons. We now have the luxury of traveling off peak which makes the experience much more enjoyable. The airports and hotels are much less crowded leading to decreased stress, less wasted time and improved service. For people who live in the tri state area, this is a perfect four day rejuvenation. We needed it and it delivered.
"Poor customer service and demotivated staff "
We’ve just completed our holiday at Sandals Royal Bahamian. I’ve listed the highlights below. We stayed in an Outdoor Tub Butler room and had Daniel and Edward as our butlers. ‘Big Mike’ our Rolls Royce driver started our holiday in the right way. Nice guy. Daniel was the epitome of customer service. He was totally focused on customer service, proactive, honest, cared about his job and delivered on his commitments. He arranged a number things for us and exactly to our requirements. He was well organised and also knew when not to disturb. But, please read on... Edward - was disorganised and made numerous commitments which he never fulfilled. Edward didn’t seem to really care about his job and showed no desire to serve his customers. He spent a lot of the day just casually passing his time chatting to chambermaids whenever I saw him. I had to constantly chase him for updates. In terms of our room, it often wasn’t cleaned until we asked in the evening. The Glasses and tumblers took 3 days to replace having been taken on Day 1 and after the Sandals shower gel ran out, it was never replaced despite commitments made. In terms of restaurants: Royal Cafe & Grill restaurant was a disaster. I had to wait 45 minutes for a menu. And then over an hour more for my meal. The food was good when it finally arrived. Gordon’s was enjoyable and the food very good. Kimono - Ryan the chef was excellent and very entertaining. We definitely had the best chef in the house. Baccarat - the food was very good and the waiter service was also great. Crystal Room - good food. But this is the first time we’ve had a Caesar Salad without chicken or any other veg apart from a WHOLE lettuce which took up the whole plate. Casanova - very nice food and good service. Thank you especially to Darlene and Ken. Private Island - Schooners was the best of the lot. Great customer service, excellent food and really nice staff. They should move these guys to the Royal Cafe asap! The Private Island itself was really calm and relaxing. Reception were not very helpful at all when I had queries. In fact the lady in charge was damn right lazy. Spices buffet breakfast - the variety of food was good but the speed of service of the waitresses was poor. The gentlemen who stayed constantly calm while making eggs for everyone deserves a mention. Thank you to you. I do think the root cause for the apathy and generally poor customer service is related to the No Tipping Policy. How can you expect staff to go the extra mile when there are no tips available. This hotel is really disorganised. I think the Management of this hotel needs overhauling. I’ve stayed in scores of resorts globally and I’ve never stayed at a ‘5 Star’ resort as poor as this. This resort is giving Sandals a bad name. I’m an easygoing guest and don’t expect much, but I had to highlight the above to warn others of what to expect. Sandals Bahamas, you’ve put me off from returning...
Beautiful hotel, amazing staff, one of the most friendly and welcoming places I've ever stayed, only thing missing was Buffett restaurant in the evening, I'm vegetarian and struggled a bit with the food.
