"Close to darling harbor "
Close to darling harbor and the city Great location Clean rooms I asked to be moved as room was smoke smelled They were very obliging and moved me straight away Staff very helpful and kind Great location to look around city Would recommend to families
This hotel is in a good location for Darling harbour. Prior to our visit I contacted the hotel to request a room away from the building site next door. On arrival we discovered our room was looking straight onto it. We were moved to the other side of the building upon request and found our apartment quiet and spacious with some basic cooking facilities. We also had a washer and dryer which was useful as we had been traveling for a while.Staff were pleasant and helpful. An ok hotel in a good location.
"Avoid - Disgusting for the price you pay"
We stayed here for 1 night, and that was long enough. We paid $950 for a 3 bedroom "Penthouse" apartment, and for that price you think you would get something decent. On arrival we struggled to park our car in the carpark as it is ridiculously tight. If you own anything bigger than a Corolla, avoidance is your best bet. When we arrived into the front reception, staff were quite polite. We proceeded to use the toilet in the foyer area, and we should have realised from the state of these, that things could only get worse. On entry to our "Penthouse" apartment, we thought it was ok. On closer inspection, and particular in the bathrooms - we quickly began to realise what a mistake we had made booking this place. Tiles were falling off everywhere, and the grout and silicon joints were full of mould. We felt sick, and there was no way we would walk into the bathrooms without thongs on. Then we proceeded onto the balcony. Again tiles falling off, and just left on the ground. I can only imagine when it was cleaned last, as you would think a cleaner would at least pick up a broken tile, not leave it on the ground for someone to cut themselves on. There are photos attached to show you how bad things were. I couldn't warn you all more about this place. Management should be ashamed of the state of this hotel, and the prices that they are charging customers for this absolute dump.
"Great location for Darling Harbour"
Great front desk staff, friendly and helpful. Got upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment, great I thought. Apartment was on the 3rd floor on the corner of the building, right next to a major road and intersection. I expected the traffic noise to abate by 10-11pm, but to no avail. They don't have much parking, with a "Wilsons" car park about 300m up the road and across another major intersection. The problem is, they have no place out the front to unload luggage. I was only staying overnight, so walking the distance with an overnight bag wasn't a problem, but it would be if I was travelling with a suitcase. Perhaps a room on a higher floor might help with the noise. Plus, I couldn't get the A/C to warm the room. There was a sign next to the control panel saying the temperature was set permanently for "environmental" reasons.
"Beware o the construction Next door"
Stayed here in April. Although conveniently located to Darling harbour and close to public transport, biggest let down was the construction work going on Next door. Stayed on Level 12 facing the construction work and at 7am on the dot Saturday morning, the noise began. Not ideal if you had a late night, the night before. I woke up with a headache which affected the rest of my day. My friend stayed on the other side and did not hear a thing! Staff were polite, the apartment was clean, although there was a sound coming out of one of the electrics just couldn't work out want it was. Disappointed that I couldn't watch tv from the bed so watched movies on my iPad. My rating is purely based on the construction work next door. Either request a room on the other side where you won't hear a thing or don't stay until the construction is finished. Also if you are booking via a third party, make sure your name is on the room booking by calling in advance, I was unable to check in for 3 hours until my friend arrived as they had her name listed and not mine so I had to sit around the lobby until she arrived. Staff were kind enough to watch our bags so we could explore the Sydney prior to checking in.
