"Nice big hotel in front of perfect beach"
nice huge hotel in Rio in Barra. I like the beach here more than the famous Copa cabana (too crowded and too much crime in Copa). The hotel has very friendly staff and efficient (Reception as well as bar and restaurant) The rooms are spacious with good Kingsize bed and a delicious hot shower. The furniture needs a refresh, it is used but clean. The reception gives you anything you need: in bathroom shaving stuff standard. Minibar perfect. Swimming pool nice, big and shadow spots. The restaurant has a nice salad bar with Italian and Brazilian choices and of course from a menu if you prefer. The access to the beach is good, as everywhere in Rio traffic is a lot and take care by crossing the road (also for bikes). Very good experience!!
Very nice hotel. The structure is little old but clean. Personnel very welcoming and very nice give all the needed informations. If you are sttaying there i advice you to make money change there not at the airport they are more honest than the safra bank and give you better rates. Their taxis are even cheaper than the regular ones. And if you take the bus inetgrada 02 from on front of the hotel it can take you all along the coast to copacabana. Highly recommended.
"An ok one !"
This hotel looks totally different from the picture on web page ,I booked a suite with acces to the beach as the offer in web page and guest what ' None hotel in Rio has access to the beach only the sherarton leblon. This was a disappointment experience ! The suite was ok can't complaint about it . But has to be done ( renovation wise ) Buffet was ok . Staff and crew member very nice and polite ! Smiling all the time ! Pool access it's in and the pool it's nice with a small gym near by , The spa ! What can I tell you about the spa ! Well it doesn't belong to the hotel but it's in the hotel facilities ! The offer a 3 hrs massage and you get only 1 .1/2 hrs, because it's one hour inside the hot tub and 30 minute with the mask. You can have massage while you mask is working on you face but not at this spa! For the price it's ok but not a really good experience ! Like people said ! You get what you pay.
Felt safe and had a room overlooking the ocean which would be common. It is a bit tired but good value. Very well designed rooms and lovely balcony. Food is very average except for the excellent breakfast but had dinner a few times in my room and underwhelming.
"Comfortable but far!"
Not knowing that there are two Sheraton hotels in Rio, my business associates and I were sent to different Sheratons. Mine was Sheraton Barra Rio de Janeiro Hotel and theirs was a resort about 20 minutes away from me. The hotel is located on a boulevard facing the sea. That is to say in order to get to the sea; you need to cross the Boulevard. My room was 1407 on the 14 t floor facing the sea. Perfect view, nice balcony, and spacious interconnected bedroom. There was a kitchenette with Microwave, coffeemaker and a sink. The sitting room included an armchair, sofa, a desk and a small dinner table. There were two TVs available and the bed was quite comfortable. I couldn't have asked for anything more. The pool was on the other side of the towers. The breakfast was quite varied and inviting. There was live music in the lobby where you could have a buffet dinner or order lighter items from the coffee shop menu and watch the couples tango. The staff was very polite, cooperative and spoke very good English. I asked them for a late checkout and they accepted 6:00 p.m. free of charge. I would recommend the hotel strongly. The only two shortcomings are that it is a bit far from the city center and that it does not have a private beach.
