"Lovely relaxing week, great staff"
Spent 7 days at his hotel 6th May 2017 and have to say was very impressed with the staff who make this hotel so comfortable. The comments about it being a little tired are true, if you go around inspecting the pool tiles, waterfall features and water jets in the spa. If however you are looking for a relaxed, efficient, perfectly positioned hotel with lovely walks along the boardwalk in both directions then it's perfect. We were upgraded to Club room with sea view just above the terrace bar. Only let down it's where everyone goes to smoke so every morning when we opened our balcony door it smelt of smoke! Rooms cleaned every day, fresh bottles of water in fridge and ice machine in the hallway. Breakfast had literally everything you could ask for set around the swimming pool. Despite this I really wanted an avocado for breakfast, no problem just asked one of the lovely staff and they went off to get it. Joe is the star of the bar in the evening but every member of staff were professional, helpful and really make the hotel. Having previously stayed at The Royal Garden Villas it is not as luxurious but look at the difference in price and this location is far better.
"Lovely hotel, will return, but with reservations"
Just back from a 4 night stay. Excellent welcome at check-in (and checkout) from Marco. Lovely spacious upgraded Club room on the 5th floor with large balcony, very comfortable bed and pillows. Large bathroom with separate shower. Very good selection of swimming pools ranging from a heated one to a salt water colder one. However, having read the negatives about the state of the poolside floors which badly need attention, I can only agree that this needs to be sorted as a matter of urgency. I noticed that some parts have had another concrete layer added but it needs to be all over not just in tiny patches. The obvious thing for guests to do in the meantime is wear flip flops, otherwise the loose gravel and broken paving is extremely uncomfortable. The management also need to decide what to do with the water features around the pool area which are empty. They're either going to refill them as they should be, or maybe they should fill then in with earth and put more plants in them. As they stand at the moment, they just look unloved. This is especially the case in the one that starts in part of the gardens and continues inside the spa where a waterfall and bridge lie empty. The maintenance manager needs to be walked around the hotel and fix missing mosaic tiles in pool areas. This surely can't be a too difficult (or expensive) job. Generally though the hotel grounds and gardens are very green and attractive. The breakfast was very good and lots of choice. The buffet in El Parador in the evening was excellent. The club breakfast in the restaurant Vicace was great and so was the service there at breakfast time. I did have an unfortunate lunch there one day when I ordered Gazpacho soup to be followed by a pizza. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, I was given the soup and the pizza at the same time. I asked for the pizza to be taken away which they did until I was ready, expecting it to be kept hot until then. The Gazpacho soup was the worst I have ever tasted anywhere in the world. The consistency was so thin it was like water with no taste and had the tiniest amount of things in it like cucumber. It looked nice with a bread crisp across it but had no flavour at all. If you can't get good Gazpacho in Spain, where can you' It was also the tiniest bowl of soup I've had in one of those big round rimmed bowls which gives a false impression of what it contains and at 8 euros was extremely poor value and quality. There was then a very long wait for the pizza as they made a fresh one for me which was a nice thought, but I'd rather have had the order right from the start. The pizza was very nice though. The club lounge was lovely with a nice outdoor terrace and some nice nibbles and a good range of complimentary drinks. The staff throughout the hotel were lovely and could not have been more helpful and pleasant. This is lovely hotel and despite the negatives mentioned I'd happily stay there again - and I will !!!
We have just spent a very restful week here enjoying our lovely room and the sunshine. Although the hotel is very big and it was full there were always plenty of sun beds and seats in the bar. There was never any pressure on the lifts. We enjoyed breakfast and lunch in the hotel every day and found the food to be reasonable. We would certainly be happy to come here again
"Very nice room, great staff, too many screaming kids"
We stayed here during the Semana Santa, the week prior to Easter, when the hotel was sold out and when it seemed that every screaming kid in Europe was in the hotel. Why can't parents keep their kids from screaming ' Luckily there is an adult pool and a quiet sun area away from the endless screeching. Don't go the week before Easter if you are not a young family. Luckily my Platinum status ensured that we got the more private breakfast area (which was very nice) and access to the Club lounge, where every night they served hors d'oeuvres and drinks, which was great and much appreciated. The room was fine - not fancy but sizeable and with a balcony with a nice partial sea view. Only issue was the room above where every morning about 7 they seemed to move the furniture by dragging it over the entire floor. The beach nearest the hotel was under reconstruction, but that was ok because the black sand beaches of La Caleta were not all that inviting. But we enjoyed the boardwalk and being able to walk into the center of things, go to restaurants, and get a drink or gelato. Nearby are a few quite good and reasonable restaurants where a fresh fish dinner with wine for 2 is about 50 Euros. Very reasonable and excellent quality. And there is a Mercado 5 minutes away where one can stock up on wine and snacks. Overall we really enjoyed Tenerife and would seriously consider rebooking this Sheraton, altho not in the week before Easter. In particular, we really appreciated the special treatment we received as Platinum members, which is far better than what Marriott offers for comparison.
"2nd excellent holiday at this Sheraton"
Really good quality hotel with excellent facilities and quality rooms. As to be expected for a Sheraton. Room was spacious and very comfortable with decent balcony. Located at the La Caleta end of Costa Adeje and thus quite a quiet spot. Very welcoming staff. Food excellent with extensive buffet breakfast and also a choice of evening restaurants. But also a good choice of nice external restaurants just across the road so not tied to the hotel. Compared to our first visit they have improved wifi which is now available free in rooms for a basic service [but was ample strength] with a premium level available on payment. Basic wifi stretched to poolside. Pools were excellent - 1 heated and 1 salt water unheated plus children's pool. Very spacious grounds with plenty of palm trees for shade and feature. Direct gate access onto seafront promenade. In mid May there were several families with small children who all seemed to be catered for very well - although as a couple we had no direct experience of this. But all seemed happy and well served. Difficult to fault this hotel and fully recommend.
