"Loved the rooftop pool!"
This hotel was very pretty with professional customer service reps. Quick check in and check out, they are also willing to hold your bags safely so you can tour a little longer. Many English speaking employees, and they are all friendly and helpful especially the bellman in front. The "concierge" lady is pretty rude, only seems to be willing to help if you are agreeable to booking outing with her suggested companies; she wont help you if you are not amendable to her suggestions. This was disappointing to us.
We stayed here for one night in April as we where going on a cruise next day.. this hotel omg was great. Staff where great and friendly. And rooms where huge and beds where so comfortably.. Pool area was great next morning over looking the old town and the cruise ship we were going on later that day.. 5* experience and 5* service Thank you staff from the Sheraton.
"Refuse to change reservation "
Tried changing reservation date through Priceline and hotel and neither one will budge. Basically paid $300 for a hotel room I can’t use that they know they will rebook and use. All I ask was to change the date by a week and got 0 help. Would never book again
My wife and I stayed here in September 14-16th 2017. The hotel was in a great location within Old San Juan. The room was nice, large and well equipped. Having the pool on the roof was an added bonus. Our room had a very small balcony to look out over part of Old San Juan and the pier.
"Good Place in a Storm"
My wife and I stayed prior to catching a Caribbean cruise and after returning from the cruise. The location to the Port of San Juan (Calle Marina, Pier #44) made it a perfect location to easily walk to the port with baggage. We arrived Saturday and competed with many other persons and groups to get checked in. The wait was worth it as we were upgraded to the Governor’s suite (very expansive, great views of the Bahia San Juan, and comfortably laid out). The staff was friendly and very helpful. The day we arrived power had just been restored and the hotel was extremely hot and humid. The hotel restaurant (Palio) was nice but was overpriced. It would be several hours before the temperature inside the hotel was reasonably comfortable. While we were at sea, hurricane Irma came through and hit Puerto Rico then Florida. Our return flight was cancelled and we were fortunate to be able and book a room for several days. Our room was a king suite, of average size, with a marginally working air conditioning unit. I requested a mini fridge and luckily got one (smaller than most college dorm mini fridges) which made the heat more tolerable. I was charged a daily rate for the fridge. Our room price included the breakfast buffet which eased our unexpected expenses somewhat for this unplanned extended stay. The breakfast buffet had plenty of variety and the juice and coffee was great. During our second stay 95% of the surrounding businesses did not have power so eating venues were limited. Portable generators could be heard blaring as they were outside of buildings providing minimum power to refrigerators and lighting. The hotel swimming pool (displayed on the web-site) is extremely small. An award should go to the photographer who made the pool appear to be expansive and luxurious as it is not. The pool signs stating no glass or smoking was permitted were ignored. It appeared locals had commandeered the pool area and had a large speaker blasting Techno to the point of normal conversation being impossible. The staff was alerted and to our dismay, never took any action to curtail the activity. As I write this, hurricane Maria is beating the island up and Old San Juan is yet again in survival mode. Our stay was unexpected and we experienced first had the hardships Irma brought to a tourist reliant economy. I applaud the staff of this hotel for their efforts to provide customer service under the worst of circumstances.
