"Hotel or Hostel or Disco' "
I've looked forward to staying here for years and finally did. I was expecting a perfect stay in a classic and historic hotel...but the reality was something totally different. The hotel has a thin veneer of history, but once you get inside any notion that this is a classic hotel disappears fast. It's a crumbling mess and needs a top to bottom makeover. Staff is pleasant but hapless. Two requests to fix the inoperable room safety box went unresolved. Wrong codes given out at checkin for the wifi (which was useless as the wifi in this hotel is nonexistent). One funny/episode involved a waiter telling me one night that the hotel was out of mineral water. When I mentioned this to the Food & Beverage Manager the next morning he stated that the hotel does indeed have mineral water! Ok, well of course at dinner that night the waiter advised me that - again - no mineral water in the hotel! I had pizza one night - served undercooked with raw dough and unmelted cheese! What restaurant does this' Check the oven! The rooms are small with a loud and rattletrap AC unit perched above the bed with a light that stays on constantly. The bathroom is basic. Small sink wedged next to a toilet making a verrrry tight fit. Basic shower. Odd bathroom door that slams shut by a spring-hinged mechanism. I could go on and on - but it's almost like the Cecil can't decide what kind of hotel it wants to be. No business center, no fitness room or gym, no workable wifi: even a hostel is often better equipped. The worst though is the hotel has a disco on the ground floor adjacent to the lobby. Every time the door to the disco was opened the unbearably loud thump-thump disco beat would be released and it goes straight up the central open atrium elevator shaft and woke me up several times. At 4:30 am when I checked out, drunk or high patrons were yelling, partying and otherwise spreading themselves out right in the lobby! Security did nothing. Management is clearly disconnected from this tragedy of a hotel. Mr Sherif Leon - please no canned response needed as all these concerns have been addressed to your indifferent staff.
Historical place with a nice view , located in downtown Traffic is kind bad during working hours but it get calmer by night time . Check in process was quick and staff were very helpful. I wanted to try the Chinese restaurant on the roof but it closed at 10 pm

"A four stars hotel with a glimpse of the pasht"
It is a historical hotel. Centrally located near down town and Alex Biblo. Prices range from 40 to 80 dollars. Rooms overlooking the sea or the city in higher floors are better. It does not have a beach or a pool but it has an arrangement to access a beach around 1.5 km from hotel. Check in was hassel free. Breakfast was good. Room was neat and tidy.
