"An absolutely wonderful place to stay"
We travelled in May 2017 and can say that we had the best holiday here. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were all amazing. We give a special thanks to Guadalupe, Isaac, Miguel and Serapio for being so wonderful towards us in the mornings at breakfast and Lluvia for the amazing service around the pool. Marcella for being so kind and friendly during our stay (the children loved her) and a huge thanks to Paulina Karen for entertaining us and our children! Our children had the best time doing the different activities set out by Paulina and it was a pleasure speaking to her. Thank you to Laura too at the downstairs bar. The food was fantastic (we stayed all inclusive and ate at the International restaurant once and the Italian once as the buffet meals were so good!) and the evening shows were very entertaining. We were particularly impressed with the effort which was put into the food, entertainment and general atmosphere in the Moonlit Theatre. Our room was on the 5th floor on the lagoon side which suited us well as we wanted a balcony for the evenings (our children would sleep in the room whilst we enjoyed a few more drinks on the balcony). The room was spacious and kept clean. We took advantage of the free shuttle bus to the other sister hotels and recommend Sunset Lagoon if you have young children. There is a small park there which is good fun for them and a very shallow enclosed pool. There is also a bar situated alongside the lagoon here which does fresh pizzas in the outside oven. It is worth noting that any food or drink consumed at any of the sister hotels is not included in your "all inclusive" and a cocktail is around 90 Mexican pesos and the pizza was around 190 if my memory is right, so take money with you! We are looking forward to returning again next year. That tells you how impressed we were!
"Great Rooms, Great Amenities, and an Even Better Staff."
I cannot speak highly enough of my visit to Sunset Royal Beach. I was there in early March. From the moment you arrive the service is excellent. The whole staff is friendly and helpful at all time. The beach was fantastic. My only complaint is that there was not enough beach chairs. However, volleyball was a blast. Having Sammy (Samuel) as a waiter, and laughing with him throughout the week was one of the highlights of our trip. I express my gratitude to him, the entire staff, and highly recommend this hotel.
The place is clean, friendly staff from the front desk to concierge. Fernanda the concierge is always there with a beautiful smile to assists my friend n I. She is very good and spoke a lot of languages which is an asset. Whenever I have questions, she is ready to assist me and direct me to the right person. She is highly recommendable with her attitude and very caring to individual needs of clients. The food is delicious. Lots of veggies and mushrooms from farm to table. Lots of fresh salad and fruits. Papaya is so sweet and dragon fruit. Enjoyed those fruits. Honey dew too. The people from the spa room is very accommodating. Very clean spa room with sauna and steam room which I enjoyed very much. We r on the right floor. Very quiet and nice view of the waters. Though during the first three days of stay, it was raining. So nothing to do really. Eat, drink and watched the show. Oh the lobster dinner on my bday 6/22/17 in Cappreccio is so fresh and cooked just right. The waiters caters to what u need. There's also jazz music at night during sit down dinner which I enjoyed very much. The hotel/ resort is fantastic. I will come back next year.
"Not perfect but still very much fun. "
We 'won' a vacation here, we knew we hadnt won anything but have done several timeshare / fractional ownership / vacation club presentations before and were more than willing to come do another for a low cost vacation. They call this their five star resort and its obvious this is the most upscale of the Sunset properties but the four seasons it is not. Overall though it is a fun spot for the family and the all-inclusive is not a bad deal; bar, restaurants, room service all inclusive no limitations. They say tips included but in reality we still tipped usually in the region of 40 to 60 pesos a time which is a couple dollars in US money. Some services are amazing, will call those out first. In particular, the entertainment staff are awesomely amazing. Plenty of activities every day, lots of fun and energy. Particular thanks to Paulina who does a lot of the kids activities in the morning and also does the babysitting. We had her look after our 4 and 8 year old kids and she did a great job. Also a call out to the dance instructor Ali. My wife totally had a thing for him ;) I guess good looks and sexy moves will do that. On the same night we got the babysitter they arranged to take us out to some of the local clubs/nightlife, they arranged transport, had reserved tables at each venue and skipped all the queues, very awesome. Anyway, the entertainment staff are really amazing, all of them. Restaurants were more of a mixed bag, the food is pleasant but unlikely to win any Michelin stars any time soon. Saying that it was all obviously made from fresh non-processed ingredients and the fish...wow, i hate fish normally and here i could not get enough, so juicy and tender and buttery. Room service was a bit more haphazard. Sometimes stuff turned up, sometimes it didnt or it took a long long time. It was the most disruptive experience of the visit. Front desk staff were all generally helpful and pleasant. Call out to Laura here, she helped us a couple of times including when room service didnt show up. Hector at the bar is a no-nonsense kind of guy but he kept those drinks flowing all night. We found ourselves meeting / making plenty of friends both in the staff and other guests. Most evenings had entertainment of some type or another some were better (the urban dance was impressive) some were meh (the singing old ladies on Wednesday) fortunately we went out to the clubs on the singing old lady night so didn't have to endure it too long. Overall though this has been a fun vacation, sitting by the pool now grabbing a last couple of free food/drinks before moving to our next venue. Having been skeptical before coming here I have to say I am very glad we did. Whilst its not perfect its a very fun spot and we were generally well looked after. And one last time our hats off to the entertainment staff they are truly fun and are what made the whole vacation what it was.
"Vacation to Sunset Royal Beach Resort "
It's our last day of our family vacation (June 15-22, 2017). I was impressed with the service they had in this Sunset Royal Hotel. They keep our room always clean not sure who is our cleaner though but he/she is doing a good job, the service in the food area they are hardworking and they never missed you they always ask if you need something. Like Guadalupe he asked me if what drinks I wanted, I requested green juice but it's not available yet for we are too early for breakfast for we are going for a excursion ,he went to check at the other restaurant it's not yet ready too, when We were about to leave he quickly bring the green juice for me. Rosy was friendly and excellent who always prepared a very good omelette. Some server we remember are Alberto, Pablo, Mario, I can't recall all of them but they are always friendly and have the will to help you to make sure you doing okay and happy, the receptionists were very accommodating. The cook ( culinary) were so good and cooking too, it was safe for our tummy. The concierge were very friendly like Alan he help us a lot especially in choosing tours we had fun thanks to him and the manager Pamela who explains us thing especially about our share. you are doing a good job. Yielly from the share department help us a lot too. Finally we met Jose Alvarez the realtor he was a happy guy and helpful. Kudos to all until next time again..You are all a good and hardworking people. God Bless You more
