"An Amazing Hotel - PITY our booking got messed up!"
We arrived from a long haul flight out of Australia in Dubai early morning, and I knew that this particular hotel offered 24 hour check in, as well Burj Kalifa views and transport to/from airport to hotel with club access, so we could grab a bite at any time. Unfortunately between our Agent in New Zealand/Expedia and the hotel there appears to have been some confusion with our booking and we ended up wasting about 2 1/2 hours and then some on sorting this out! We sat at the airport waiting for a car, unbeknown to us that our original booking had been cancelled and a different one had been booked without car/view and early check in and without the club access. It was my husband's birthday and therefore I was hoping that everything would go to plan!!! Which was definitely NOT the case! Our day could have been totally ruined and there was definitely a lot of wasted time, stress and worry, which although the hotel tried to sort out, it required a phone call from me to Expedia to get to the bottom of it and they fixed what they could immediately, but by this stage we had been given a room without the view!!! by the time, it was eventually sorted, we had no time left to explore the club facilities and could not really enjoy the hotel and its facilities as I had already planned a safari dinner in the desert! It is an amazing hotel, and smells fabulous on entry, the flowers and the foyer area are amazing! The staff were friendly, polite and caring but struggled to explain how this could happen and did not seem to have the authority to address it. I had followed up with copious emails to confirm all my arrangements were in order, so I still fail to see where the confusion came in and why it took so long to try and resolve. If someone had immediately told me my booking had been changed and I did not have the "additional" features I could have sorted it out so much quicker but instead the amount of time wasted, trying to find a driver and going over the booking with everyone at the airport and again at checkin, caused so many delays that my plans for my husbands birthday were almost spoilt. The rooms are fabulous and big with lovely balcony and very comfortable and bathroom amenities are great. Unfortunately we did not spend nearly enough time in the hotel to fully appreciate it or enjoy it, as we left early the next morning for London, did not even have time to enjoy their breakfast. Perhaps one day we can return and fully enjoy this magnificent hotel.
"Take your money!"
The reason I chose this title is that the Address Downtown never returned my 600 Deram/ $160 deposit! Also, I forgot on my last day two very expensive perfumes worth $300 each which the Address confirmed they have it stored for me, and when a friend came back to pick up for me they told him they do not have it! I went again on a business meeting and stayed at this hotel and requested from management to return my money, but they denied me any dollar! So a sum of almost $800 was taken by the Address from me, a customer, for no reason! I am sure I am not the only customer who was subject of being taken advantage of! I warn all travelers to Dubai hotels, never to leave deposits at the hotels! USE YOUR CREDIT CARDS around the hotel!
"LOVED THIS HOTEL, CANNOT WAIT FOR IT TO REOPEN!"
We were staying at this beautiful hotel for the 4th time in December 2015. There is simply no hotel in Dubai that comes close to it for delivering 5* luxury glitz. I won’t repeat what I’ve already said in previous reviews (please read them) but this hotel has it all and having just returned from Dubai (2016) staying at another 5* hotel for New Year’s Eve nothing compares to The Address Downtown. The large Club lounge and vast terrace with spectacular views of the amazing Burj Khalifa and fountains really is the only place to be to celebrate seeing in the New Year! All of the hotel staff go out of their way to make you feel special, from the pool attendants to the Manager Caroline Jane. The Club lounge staff led by the wonderful Savitri and Godwin are a credit to the hotel. Sadly on New Year’s Eve 2015 there was a fire. It started at 9.30pm whilst we were eating in CUT having a fantastic evening. Unfortunately our room 728 was completely gutted by the fire, we lost absolutely everything apart from the clothes we had on a 2 sets of house keys. How disappointed we are to be 1 year on and still no compensation whatsoever….we hope this is resolved before the grand re-opening in July. We would love to have our faith restored by Emaar and return once again to stay here. To be able to make new memories for New Year’s Eve at simply the best hotel in Dubai.
