The location is excellent . The room size & cleanliness is perfect . The reception is very friendly & welcoming . The amenities is excellent as well . Our daughter & her friend once stayed at this hotel and was treated nicely too . Regards , Mr. Mrs. El Husseini
Our trip didn't start well. We went to the reception at the Montcalm hotel across the road. It was our genuine belief that this was the hotel we had booked as all pictures featured the main hotel reception, but we were swiftly informed we were in the wrong place and our room had been reserved at the sister hotel across the road. They were friendly enough although they took some time to locate our booking. We were the led through the dining area to a room in the basement! The room was small, dark and the fittings worn. The blanket at the end of the bed was actually dirty (See pic). I opened the curtain to see a member of staff sat there smoking staring back at me (See pic). I couldn't wait to get out, so we dropped our bags and headed out. To add insult to injury the spa weekend I had been promised was a distant memory as the spa is actually located in the larger hotel across the road. I did not fancy heading across the road in my swimming costume and kaftan. I know London is expensive but I do not expect to spend several hundred pounds a night for a dirty, small dark room with hardly any of the facilities advertised. The only positive is the location. Minutes from hyde park, oxford street and just 4 stops from Westfield. My advice is spend your money elsewhere.
"Great stay and helpful host"
What a wonderful stay and can't thank the team enough, they were fabulous hosts. Had left our Lion king show pass in our room and was already late for the show. Thanks to the kind gentle man at the hotel who arranged for a cab and got our tickets dropped off. We are pleased with our daughter's choice of hotel and would recommend this cozy hotel to people looking for boutique style stay. We 'll see u again next year. P.s my husband is still in awe of ur sausages.
"Super friendly staff"
The staff (Gale & Cristian) were very helpful and made our stay amazing :) The location is quite and very near to the tube, Hyde park and Oxford shopping street. The rooms are small but are just fine for couples
"Gotta be kidding me... facilities are across the street!"
Ok, this is easy. The room: TV didn't work, then the remote control did not work. The light switches are also awkwardly placed and not well thought through. The bathroom was quite good with a rain-shower with a mood light. The floor is squeaky - it is an old building I guess, so that's not really an issue. I couldn't hear people in other rooms for the most part. The bed was super comfy. Facilities: None. The gym, swimming pool and sauna/steam room is across the road in another hotel. Seriously' Breakfast: The hotel restaurant is tiny and was full on both mornings I went for breakfast. I included breakfast in my reservation and was only given access to a very limited "continental" cold buffet. The breakfast items on the menu are apparently for some other breakfast option I have not included in my reservation. The hotel also didn't have English Breakfast tea on one of the mornings. The staff also came across as very confused as to who was allowed to eat what. Location: For the price, not bad, I guess. It's a 30min walk to Soho and most of the other attractions. Overall, the front desk/reception staff was really good during my entire stay and also very responsive when asking/requesting things. The waiting staff too, very polite and respectful, but confused about their own system. The rest could have been easy fixes.
