"Amazing stay at St Regis Bora Bora"
My husband and I chose to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary at St Regis Bora Bora and loved every minute of it. The staff were quite welcoming and friendly, certainly making our stay memorable. Lagoon Restaurant was exquisite, the Ovaltine Kulfi was a standout as was the lagoon fish and the Rice Cracker Crusted Ahi Tuna - a must for all you diners to try. Lagoon Restaurant surprised us with a cake for our 10th wedding anniversary (we chose to have dinner there) and that was superb! Compliments to the chef and staff at Lagoon Restaurant! we will definitely return !
"St. Regis Bora Bora will be the highlight of your life!"
This was my first time at a St. Regis property. From top to bottom, I have never had better service anywhere. Our butler, Carmen, was prepared in advance of our arrival and had already called to confirm with the spa for our massage and arranged pick-up at our bungalow for the next day. She even stopped us when she saw us out and about to make sure everything was going well and you could tell that she genuinely cared about our experience. We utilized the clothes pressing service and were so happy each evening when we could clean up after our beach activities and get into freshly pressed clothes for dinner. Cleaning and room service was excellent. We ate at all of the restaurants on the property and they were all fantastic. The musicians at the pool bar in the evening were delightful and a highlight of the stay (Mili & Bertie). The spa was amazing and Sandra from Paris gave me the best massage outside in front of the lagoon. The whole property was in impeccable condition. Many times you see photos of one thing that are airbrushed and when you arrive you see the back of the place in disrepair- but that couldn't be farther from the case here. Also, the private dinner for two on the beach was the absolute best part of our honeymoon. I cried when I saw how beautiful it was. Virginia provided us with impeccable service that evening and the chef even came out twice to check on us. I've never done anything so romantic. I loved being able to use the bicycles, paddleboards and kayaks at a moment's notice without a charge. I wanted to thank the hotel for allowing us to use a shower at one of the empty rooms at the end of the day (after we had checked out at noon) so we could be clean for our flight home. That was really a nice touch. Last but not least, when our boat left the dock to head back to the airport and all the butlers waved to us everyone on the boat was moved and in awe. You guys are truly a world class resort and even though it was a pricey trip for us, I considered it worth every penny after all the wonderful amenities we found at St. Regis. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special. It was a week we will never forget for the rest of our lives!
"Third time is the charm"
Well the first time in Bora Bora we got severely sunburned, second time was the week of the monsoon and this time was absolutely perfect. We showed up around noon and were greeted by Ritchie, one of our first butlers. We were checking in and informed that we were upgraded to a premium bungalow with a spa. I declined it because I like my regular room they were a little taken back but, they convinced me to look at it. I stuck with the upgrade. Oh my goodness the view of Mt. Otemanu was amazing. The deck was huge and the living room was so big that at the back of it they fit a daybed in there. So if you have little ones they could actually stay there with you. Problems we encountered first wifi would only work if my husband sat on a particular part of the bed. Called down to the desk and they had someone at our bungalow and resolved the problem in 20 min. Second problem was termites go figure, wooden building over water attracts the little buggers. Wasn't a big deal to us we phoned down and they fixed the issue while we were at dinner. Now the good stuff the food is wonderful. They change up the menu periodically because people re-visit and like some variety. We ate at the lagoon restaurant the 1st night and it was delicious we ate inside because it had been raining so they were worried it would start again. Our servers go above and beyond and even the managers take the time to speak with you. They remember things so they make you feel important, our waitress greeted us the next day and asked us how our diving was that morning. She recalled our conversation from the night before. Tips if you are eating lunch at the bar and your not a big eater share. We always split our meals. Also SPG gold is the way to go that's what got us our upgrade, and late checkout. Since our flight home was a midnight flight it was nice to have our room up till 5. Overall our time at St. Regis is always amazing, food is superb and the staff are impeccable. We said this is our last time because it is pricy and there's other places we would like to see..... but we've said that twice before and are already looking at dates.
"How do you describe perfection'"
I'm quite baffled by some of the ever so slightly negative comments as I felt my stay in St. Regis Bora Bora was pretty much perfection and I travel extensively. We stayed here for 5 nights to celebrate our Honeymoon and couldn't be more pleased with what we chose. The service is exceptional from the moment you get off the plane to the day you leave. The minute you arrive on the island (after the transfer boat) we were greeted by the front desk then our butler and of course with some drinks. We took a minute to get checked in and were promptly driven around the resort to familiarize ourselves with this massive resort. Our butler was amazing and helped us book all our activities as well as getting us outside front row seating at the Lagoon - Jean Georges. Every day we would have someone outside to pick us up and take us to our event. Whether it was the underwater motorized scooter, cooking classes at the Jean Georges or snorkeling we were always driven to our destination. You get to your room and the service continues as you find your bed showered with rose pedals and a bottle of champagne to enjoy. We stayed at an over water bungalow which was phenomenal. We had amazing views of the island and the rooms were amazing. The see-through glass panel in the living area below was always fun at night with the lights on. Its hard not to be ecstatic when you can just walks outside your bungalow and jump right into some of the clearest blue waters you've ever seen. The food at the Lagoon was exceptional. Everything was eloquently prepared and was fresh. The waiters were knowledgeable and recommended some great wine. We still order some of the same bottle of Musigny-Chambolle wine we had that day everywhere we go. I don't know if I could recommend a better place to enjoy your Honeymoon. The St. Regis is pure luxury from top to bottom and worth the trip even if its just once in a lifetime.
"Great One for a Bucket List"
Bora Bora has been on our bucket list for years. St Regis was merely a place to stay before we came. However what a great place we were fortunate enough to pick. The overwater bungalow is superb with comfortable beds and air conditioning, a great rain shower next to a sunken bath tub for two and then they outside patio and swimming dock. Sharks and rays swim by in the morning. Morning doves coo their hearts out, song birds sing and distance roosters crow. The warm breeze is clean and fresh and paradise is envious. During our stay will assign you your our own personal butler staff reachable 365 24-7. Now our butler looks nothing like Mr.j Carson of Downton Abby fame, had the English butlers looked like these butlers then England would still rule the waves and the aristocracy would still rule England. The are ever so polite and attractive. They will take care of everything. Get you ice, make reservations, give advice, provide onsite transportation and do their best to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. It's part of the service. I have eat anything that wasn't good to "OMG" superb. Fresh food and excellent preparation and presentation. Carnivores, Vegans, Gluten free or Gluten only, its all available. Asian, Italian, Polynesian, American, French or you name it. Of course any wine or beverage although ice tea although Dr. Pepper or root beer are unknown here. Everything is expensive. I haven't paid less then $100 a person for any meal. So get some sort of meal plan and then stuff your pockets with bread and butter if your on a budget. They have the perfect white sand beaches that paradise is suppose to have. Of course all you need to do is raise your hand and someone brings you a drink or towel or umbrella. This resort caters to couples and honeymooners but families will enjoy and are welcomed. Kids will love the beach and lagoon where its safe to snorkel with reef fish like Dory or Elmo but not moby or Mr shark or urchin or jelly fish so relax momma. Their are no cars on the outer reef island where the hotels are. Transportation is by walking, bike, golf cart, motor launch, knack, war canoe, speed boat, jet ski, water bike, parasail, sail boat, paddle board, or blow up duck float. Sunset over the big island mountain peek is fabulous and sunrise over Taha superb if you go to the Helicopter pad area near the exercise gym. Yes its expensive and at some point once you are here you will understand the meaning of the phrase if you have to ask how much it cost then you cant afford it. I'm not rich and no what it takes to work hard and save my money but this is what I did all that years of work to one day experience and enjoy so plan ahead and then enjoy as I am.
