"Great Location, nice hotel"
This was my first visit to New Orleans, Westin is the perfect hotel to be in, now part of the Marriott brand the hotel is beautifully located, next to the Mississippi river and French Quarters. The rooms are spacious, clean and the linen and accessories top class. The staff was courteous and helpful and the view from my room on the 27th floor was mesmerizing. The food was good. The beds were comfortable.
Excellent hotel 5 min walk from the great Mississippi river and shops, 7 min walk to bourbon street & royal street with street entertainment. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. Staff very good, Food served buffet style in spacious restaurant. Small bar area but very large comfortable lounge overlooking the Mississippi so you can watch the paddle steamers go by.
"Nice hotel with a fab out look"
We were on the 25th floor so had a great view of the river. The hotel was OK but expensive and was the first hotel I had stayed at in the US that did not include breakfast .. cost was $26.00 for a Breakfast that was fairly poor..
"Not a 5 - huge problem with check-in"
Nice hotel in many ways - rooms good, fitness room and Wi-Fi good. But, huge delays with check-in - many complaints on day that I checked in. They should know how many people are checking in and plan accordingly. Cannot give this place a 5.
"Very nice stay at the Westin Canal Place"
We have stayed at this property several times over the years under different branding and this was one of our best stays. We had a River View room on the 20th floor. The room was clean and everything in perfect order. The front desk staff was pleasant and efficient at check in, the Housekeeping staff were friendly when we saw them in the hallways and kept the room in pristine condition. I would like to acknowledge the doormen as they were beyond helpful, friendly and courteous in all of our interactions with them. Hailing cabs, greeting us every time we arrived back at the hotel, holding our luggage after we checked out and before we had to head to the airport. They were outstanding and gave a great impression of the hotel. Now, a couple negatives - 2 out of 4 elevators were broken one of they days we stayed. Other guests stated that this was an ongoing issue, I can't say for sure, but by the next morning all was working correctly. If you haven't been here before the elevator to the guest rooms can be confusing, mostly due to the sign in the elevator does not reveal how it works. If you listen to the Front desk clerk it is clearly explained, but I had to show several befuddled folk in the elevator how it worked. Lastly, the WiFi internet is abysmally slow, at least it was in our room. None of this made our stay any less enjoyable and we will return again.
