Outstanding, the place to be. Great, quiet, superb breakfast, good pools, wifi and service. Clean and tidy. Really kind staff Cons: awful ambient music everywhere, poor spa and expensive tennis courts with no discount for customers. Will be back for sure
My husband and I came here from Cascais for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We are very disappointed.. We are staying at the other Aqualuz - the hotel must have been nice around 10 years ago but now it seems completely lifeless.. The carpets have a horrid yellowish-green colour and dirty. The room in itself is quite good. The breakfast is nothing special. It's ok. We have come to this hotel for lunch since we received a discount for lunch and dinner well let's just stay that we are going to pass on the Dinner even with the discount. When you arrive you are asked to pay immediately - and it's expensive for 2 people without discount 45€. They want you to pay because they probably know that a normal person would come in, check the buffet and leave. When we arrived there were almost no food left, only about 10-15 mins later did we see the trays slowly filling up again. Probably the worst samosas I have ever eaten, the chocos fritos are ok, the fish wasn't cooked - raw inside, the meat was dry, etc. For me it explains a lot when grown men go get spaghetti at the kid's corner... Oh and talking about spaghetti.. there was a bolognaise sauce that I am really not sure they should be serving.. it looked like someone had thrown it up.. My husband adventured in a chocolate mousse and apparently that wasn't bad. This hotel is true seems nicer and more modern but also seems a little lifeless...
"I expected better."
One week in studio in TroiaLagoa. Negatively, small room and need of some paint on the walls and remodeled floor. The carpet also needs to be replaced; Two small elevators for 16 floors. The water the indoor pool was cold as well as the jacuzzi. Positively, the sympathy of the employees and the Soundproofing of the rooms and the view from balcony.
We went by ferry since by road it takes 100km through the peninsula, the hotel is a 5min walk distance. The room was spacious, but the matresses were fitted for cavemen, as coils were terrible. The classic excuse was that replacements had started, but obviously not our room! And no solution was arranged. The Wi-Fi was resembling an old 56k connection, good for a cheap hostel. The swimming pool was ok, some decent entertainment for kids, not too intrusive of your vacation resting time. A flea plague and gusty winds were present during the whole week!! Terrible really. The beach beds pricing is outraging (20€/day), not like the beach was something special. Outside the hotel, there is plenty of... nothing. There's a casino, and a bunch of restaurants, if you are looking for shops, activities and day/nightlife you must take the ferry to Setubal (30min trip). Summary, reasonable for families wanting to stay full-time at hotel. Regarding our expectations, it was overrated and overpriced. Won't be coming back, i'll consider staying at Sesimbra or Algarve.
"Great option to visit Troia"
Very nice hotel in Troia, with all the services that a family will need, spacious rooms, nice pool with sunbeds always available and direct access to a wonderful beach, I specially recomend going to the beach on low tide to enjoy it even more. If coming back to Troia will definetely choose Aqualuz again.
