"Nice Hotel, Friendly Staff"
Due to Hurricane Irma's impact on Miami's airport, we were forced to make alternate flight arrangements for our week in Curacao. As I had United Mileage Plan Points, I used them to book Copa Airlines from New Orleans to Curacao via Panama City. The only drawback was we would have to spend a night in PC, but we treated that as another adventure instead of an issue. My Chase Explorer card gave me exclusive booking privileges for hotels in PC and I chose The Trump International Panama as I was offered a room for $149 plus a $50 hotel credit and a breakfast buffet for two. It sounded like and was a really great deal! The hotel is about 30 mins or so from the airport (try Uber, much cheaper than a taxi) and is an impressive sail shaped building on the oceanfront. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly and imformative and soon we were in our ocean view room on the 23rd floor. The room was clean, modern, large, airy and was furnished tastefully including a large bath tub in one corner of the room. The room had a separate walk in shower with a rain head, a separate water closet and a large balcony affording beautiful ocean views. There also was a large screen TV and a personalized welcome basket of fresh local fruit in the room. We had lunch on the terrace of the Barcelona restaurant. Although a bit pricey, the ambiance was nice and the food (tapas) was tasty. The breakfast bar was also in the Barcelona Restaurant the next morning and featured all kinds of hot food, cold food and fruit. I was very impressed with the quantity and the service. Both were superb! The hotel is a good jumping off point for exploring the Panama Canal and the Old Town of Panama City. Its not within walking distance, but it is an easy 5-10 minute taxi or Uber ride from almost anywhere (except the Canal which is about 25 minutes away). Although we only had a one night stay, I enjoyed the Trump International Panama City and would recommend it as one of the nicer hotels in PCY.
i stayed here for 3 days it was very nice and clean! room and bed where super clean & bed was comfortable! the casino in the building was super cool! the restaurant in the casino was amazing i had a Lomo Saltado with it was the best i ever had and that dish is my fav i always get it when i see it on the menu.
"The good, the bad, the ugly"
The good: the rooms are very comfortable, with a good mattress and pillows, great shower and amenities; the swimming pools are fantastic; the ambiance in general is great. The bad: the Azul restaurant at the pool has a terrible cost x benefit; there was too much noise coming from the room just besides ours (through the communicating door - avoid this type of room). The ugly: the city itself is ugly (and that includes the hotel neighborhood)
I just stayed at this hotel for a business trip, it's sleek , modern, the rooms are spacious and airy with a great bathroom and shower plus the most comfortable bed I have slept in. The food was great throughout the stay and the hotel staff were most friendly and helpful. I even had a moment to enjoy the infinity pool, a lovely luxury hotel and not at all expensive. The views from the 66th floor , while enjoying a cocktail are fabulous!
"Awesome hotel with great amenities and friendly staff"
I stayed at this hotel September 6-13 . It was supposed to be a 5 night stay but my flight was cancelled twice so I had to extend two more nights and it was worth it. The hotel is beautiful. When you enter the main entrance, you can see a beautiful huge sculpture which appears like a guy relaxing . I was greeted with a huge smile by the receptionists at the main lobby. There was actually an art show happening the night of my arrival where paintings of a Panamanian artist were on display. I had the honor to meet him and saw several of his beautiful paintings . The room is just the right size. They kept in clean everyday. There is a balcony which is a plus, despite mine only have a partial view. The POOL, I wrote all caps because that's the best part. Amazing views, amazing views, amazing views...and did I mention amazing views'!!! Not to mention the people working at the pool area are very helpful and accommodating. At one point one server asked me how was I doing and I told him I only slept a few hours coz I went out and stayed up late and with the flight coming in a few hours I'm falling asleep . He offered to make me coffee and asked if he can help me with anything . Also luis must be a popular name at that hotel coz both luis have been very helpful in some of my issues there. Luis from the reception/lobby helped me when I had to extend my stay and also in looking for a tour going to one of the islands and Luis from the gym was very helpful when I had issues with the treadmill and other equipments. All in all, my stay was exceptional and will definitely come back and stay there ..
