My sister booked this hotel for our stay before our cruise. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay even if it was just for a night. The hotel property is huge which makes it feel like an all-inclusive resort! All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our rooms didn't have any issues and was clean when we arrived. The luxurious bathroom is quite large. The three of us who used the pools had a great time! We enjoyed the waterslide and the lazy river. The hotel is right across from Aventura Mall that you don't even need to take their shuttle. The first time we just walked there to get some food. In the evening we took the shuttle. I definitely recommend Turnberry if you're visiting the area.
"Amazing Father's Day Experience"
I wanted to surprise my husband for Father's Day some place away from Miami Beach, so I selected Turnberry Isle Resort in Aventura and I was not disappointed. In fact, I was truly blown away by all the special features and offerings of this resort. First and foremost, Turnberry Isle is a beautiful resort, with two stunning golf course, a newly-renovated Spa, a recently opened Starbucks and they are across the stress from my favorite mall, Aventura Mall. Secondly, the service exceeds exceptions. We arrived around noon and were greeted kindly by Stephanie from VIP Services. She personally walked us to our room and verified our brunch and dinner reservation. We had brunch for Father's Day in Bourbon Steak; a special brunch for the occasion and it was exceptional. The food offerings were great; my husband particularly loved the seafood offerings. They had a balloon maker (Randall) for the kids and our daughters loved that. The service was equally as good, and Chance the Restaurant Manager and Raul the Dining Room Captain were both gracious and attentive. Cesar was the omelets chef and he was fun and engaging, not to mention he made us the best omelets with a lot of "love". Their Director of Food and Beverage, Brad Randall was also very attentive, always checking in with us and ensuring we enjoyed the food and service. After our delicious brunch, we headed to the pool were the service continued to impress us. Paola was our amazing server, she was truly wonderful, and really spoilt our daughters, getting them ice-cream and other treats. Lucas was very accommodating also and the Pool Manager; Bridgette checked in with us throughout the afternoon. Turnberry has a great lazy river and walk in pool that our kids enjoyed thoroughly. Before dinner we went back to the room to change and met Judy in Housekeeping. She was wonderful and just wanted to check with us to ensure we had everything we needed. Joel, their Director of Rooms was fantastic also, and he gave us a very nice amenity, making us feel very special. We love Bourbon Steak and were excited to enjoy some alone adult time and as always it did not disappoint. The service, steaks and desserts were all perfect and the restaurant manager, Rafael was engaging and attentive. We loved our dinner and can't wait to go back again soon. Overall, our Father's Day at Turnberry Isle Resort was perfect, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. I cannot say enough good things and we are already planning our next trip. Thank you to the amazing team that made our day so special and for creating such fabulous memories for our daughters.
"A place to "see and be seen""
We found the hotel very impressive and fancy, a grand entry, luxurious pool and a totally opulent cocktail bar! Our room was very posh and upscale, with lots of nice details. There was an ant infestation in our room on the desk where the phone was, they were all over the desk! We found the service to be mostly untrained and unprofessional. The valets seemed very overwhelmed and snappy, they said they were understaffed, but it was not a reason to snap at a guest who was checking in. The front desk had a mix of well spoken and eloquent service, along with service that you might find at Motel 6. In my opinion this class of hotel should have only impressive and friendly staff working the front. The hotel is very trendy, with the most well groomed locals & travelers as guests. Overall I think it is a place to "see and be seen" and less of a place to be pampered and well served. So long as you know that info up front, you will enjoy your stay.
"A few quirks"
This is a beautiful property with multiple dining options on property or within close proximity. They do have a shuttle service that will transport you to the Aventura Mall. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the bathroom was large/clean but starting to show some wear. No fitted sheet or mattress pad on the bed and a few stains on the bedding which were less than ideal. My two complaints are with the resort fees: I booked for business, was rarely on property, and used none of the amenities. I asked them to remove the 60 dollars worth of charges for a 2 night stay at checkout and was told that wasn't possible. I have stayed at many resorts and have had that request accommodated if traveling for business and not using the facilities. The other complaint was that I booked a golf course view room and was not informed that golf course grounds care (mowing/weed whacking and other general noise) takes place at 6 am. I would have surely booked a different room...
"Second time around"
Spacious accommodation in an ideal setting. Conveniently close to Aventura shopping mall. Great running track around the precinct. Friendly service, although the bar staff could be more welcoming. Restaurant quality and service are both excellent although the prices are out of touch with the experience. Likewise, the laundry service is excellent, but avoid having to use it over weekends as the 50% surcharge makes it cheaper to buy new clothes! Have stayed here for 8 nights on two occasions in the past 2 years and would return.
